The Muppets Movie and Transformers. ...and Breaking Dawn. The birth scene should be epic and equally disturbing. Omigrash, that's coming out this summer? I need to preorder my tickets! ... That enthusiasm wasn't sarcastic. Mocking those movies from the front row on opening day is the best mother-daughter bonding ever. I do the same thing, only with friends, not my mum. It takes a loooot of convincing to get some of them to go, but I mean...COME ON. Breaking Dawn is the one with the uterus-nomming. I WANT TO SEE HOW THEY'RE GOING TO GET AWAY WITH THAT. So fucking excited. I love sitting in the middle of the theatre and mocking the movie. 1) If I have a seat, that means a Twilight fan doesn't. 2) I get to ruin it for everyone else in the theatre who wants to "enjoy" it. 3) I have laughed so hard at these movies that by the time Breaking Dawn: Part Duh comes out, I will be functionally immortal.* *Following the "laughter adds years to your life" theory.

What, they're splitting it up? Why? It's not like so much happened that they can't fit it all in one movie...

I am super excited for the adaption of The Help! I love me some Emma Stone, and that book was really good.

Couldn't give a crap about Captain America. I hate the hell out of American patriotism, or any patriotism for that matter. EW. I'm excited for it because Chris Evans and it's a WWII film. I love me some hot mens in period clothing. Plus, it looks good. And I am a patriot, so there's that, but it's a distant fourth, in regards to my excitement.

I for one really enjoyed Thor, but I'm a sucker for Branagh's directing. I'm excited for Green Lantern! YESSSSSSS! SPACE TOP GUNNNNN! Except it was pushed back in my country to August. *cries* Couldn't give a crap about Captain America. I hate the hell out of American patriotism, or any patriotism for that matter. EW. Really?! I question your taste in movies Green Lantern looks like a CGI mess while Captain America is more classy. And this coming from someone who is a DC and not a Marvel girl. I don't know shit about Captain America besides that he runs around with a shield but I am going for the period-ness. You don't get a lot of period piece superhero movies. I think that that is one of the things that made the newest X-Men so good. That, and the hot mens.

And don't forget Erik and Charles's mad, forbidden love for one another. I'm no slash fan, but seriously. Stuff was tangible. Even The Boyfriend picked up on it.

I don't think Chris Evans is attractive! XD And it's not like there's no choice of good WWII films to watch. I just have issues with the whole patriotic wank-fest that it will be. I'm not American so I see no need to care about a Captain America. And I won't support it on principle. I'm more excited for Green Lantern because I love GL and Hal in the comic books, period. Also if they make more GL films we might get Green Arrow, since he's Hal's bestie, whom I loooooooove! Also... it's Top Gun.. in SPACE. Awesome! I like my superhero films to be fun! I personally enjoy CGI too, especially since I want my second degree to be in 3D Animation. That said, I really enjoyed X-men First Class.

RE: Green Lantern I was kind of disappointed when I saw the first trailers and learned they'd gone with the Caucasian Green Lantern (as opposed to the original, who was African American). I want racial diversity and I want it now! All these homogenous superheroes are making me grumpy. When are they going to glorify the minorities, hm?

Um, gonna comment and correct you on your comic canon. Green Lantern has mostly been portrayed by white dudes in the comic books. Not saying that that is right (we could argue on sooo many issues with comic books) but the first one was white. Ryan Reynolds is specifically playing Hal Jordon -- who is white. John Stewart was the black Green Lantern, the one most known to people who don't read comics because he is the one they recognize from television cartoons. Just sayin'. It has been annoying me when people are bitching, saying "BUT HE IS BLACK." No, not this specific one.

I wasn't saying that Green Lantern is always and should always be black, but that when they made the executive decision of which Green lantern to make a movie about, they went with the white one. That's what disappoints me -- as I said, the racial diversity would have been refreshing. For all that, it looks like it'll be a fun movie, and I certainly won't be thinking about this while watching it.

But you said "as opposed to the original, who was African American" and I just wanted to correct that the original wasn't black.

Well, they went with Hal Jordan, and not John Stewart, because Hal is the first lantern and the trend is to do origin films. Of course, with 2 more films planned we may see John yet. The human lanterns do exist all at the same time (Hal, Guy, John and Kyle). John Stewart is actually the third human lantern.
