I thought I would kick off the inevitable Harry Potter thread. Some basics: My name is Lizzie and I have been a Potterhead since about 8 or 9 when I first read Sorcerer's Stone. I am a Ravenclaw and my favorite of the trio is Ron. My favorite wrock band is Draco & The Malfoys. I am currently rereading the series and I'm more then halfway through Goblet of Fire.

When Harry Potter first came out, my mum spent aaaaages trying to convince me to read it. I was absolutely against it because I thought it was rubbish, even though I didn't really have a reason to/any knowledge of it. Then I caved. My favourite of the trio is Dan Radcliffe! Or, more seriously, I would say Ron, but that's more due to lack of options rather than actually really liking Ron.
My favourite book is probably Order of the Phoenix (possibly Goblet of Fire), but it's my least favourite film. The whole lead up to it I was most looking forward to the scene near the end where the fountain/statues at the Ministry come to life... But that wasn't in the film. Nor was any of the Department of Mysteries stuff. Basically, they cut all of what (in my opinion) made the book so great.

Harry Potter will forever be my favorite book series. My grandma bought me the second book, Chamber of Secrets when I was 7 (I think?) and it was the first one I read. It's my favorite. Honestly, I think the whole series is just beautiful. No other book has been able to make me cry and laugh within a matter of pages.

Hi, my name is Tori and I've been addicted to Harry Potter since I was nine years old. These books are without a doubt the reason I write. I don't think I'd be an English major if it weren't for my love of these books! They've honestly defined my youth. Favorite Book: PoA Favorite Character: Sirius Black Favorite Ship: me/Sirius Luna/Neville I plan to get a Harry Potter tattoo, actually.....despite the fact that I have friends who think it's a crazy idea and that "you won't care about Harry Potter as much when you're thirty"....LIES.

I would LOVE a Harry Potter tattoo. If you don't mind me asking, what did you have in mind? I would get a Death Mark Dark Mark. I fail. , but I really want to be a teacher, and school administration might not appreciate something that ostentatious. Another thing I'm considering is a short quote somewhere on my back.

Well, you know the chapter art from the American editions of the books? You know the one with Harry's glasses? (I can't think of it off the top of my head) I want that, rather small, and then, in the typeset of the books, above it: The Boy Who Lived, and below it: All was well, since those are the first and last phrases anyone reads in Harry Potter. I'll probably put it on my left side.

That's not boring! That's one of the most realistic and well-developed love stories in all of young adult literature!!!

Okay, my name's Astrid, and I first read SS when my dad gave it to be for my birthday 6 years ago. I'm a Slytherin (a nice one though), I love Snape and his story, and my favourite class would be Potions.
I'm actually a very dedicated potterhead, I wrote an essay on how reading Harry Potter was a life changing experience. I actually got an Honorable Mention and $100 for it, so, Harry Potter wins ;D

Hi, I'm Katherine, and I've been a Potterhead since some time between the release of the 5th and 6th books. My favourite character is... probably Luna, I think.
I'd love to get a Harry Potter tattoo when I'm older, too. Right now I'm set on a snitch with the words "I am about to die" below it, somewhere on my back.

I'm Hayley and I didn't start reading Harry Potter until I was thirteen. I resisted for the longest time because I was convinced Rowling stole everything from Tolkien. My friend made me read them, and I fell in love. I was just President of the Harry Potter Club on my campus, and am Manager for our Quidditch team. My favorite book is the Goblet of Fire, and my favorite character is Neville.

Hello, my name is Kate. I first discovered Harry Potter in 3rd grade, when my friend convinced me to read the books. I read the first five books within about four months. We then proceeded to have Harry Potter trivia contests for the rest of the year. I am a Ravenclaw, and some of my favourite characters are Luna, Dobby, Fred and George, the Marauders, Snape, and Neville. My patronus would be a cat, I would be a Chaser, and my favourite class would be History of Magic or Charms.
I hate it when people write Harry Potter off as being children's books. I had an English teacher last year who dismissed the books every time I connected them to a literary element in class. I don't mind if you don't like them (although I don't understand how you don't like them), but when people write them off as being simple children's books without ever reading them, it makes me angry. There's so much more to these books than some kid doing magic tricks.

Hi, I'm Paula and I feel really embarrassed because I didn't read the books until I was 16 (don't throw things, please!). I had always been interested in reading them, but people kept ruining the endings for me which always makes me really upset. But, finally in high school I decided I would just read all the books anyway before the last movie came out and I AM SO GLAD I DID. I just love everything about the series. The Weasley's are my favorite characters and I am a big fan of Ron/Hermione. Also, I like to think of myself as Ravenclaw and my patronus is a hedgehog
