Oh, I was hoping there would be a thread here for Potterheads.
Hi! I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter books, and I have been since grade one when my teacher read the first one to us.
My favourite book is probably Deathly Hallows, because I get such a joy out of seeing all of the characters return. Order of the Phoenix comes in a close second though!
My favourite character has always been Hermione, and she was a huge role model for me when I was growing up. As corny as it sounds, I was always the nerdy kid at school, and Hermione made being nerdy cool, so I adore her for that. Luna and Lupin are other favourites of mine.
As far as shipping goes, I'm a weird person to ask. I've always loved Harry/Hermione, but I also have a huge soft spot for Ron/Hermione, and I ship Harry/Luna, oddly enough. I'm basically not a rabid shipper about any pairing.
I'm on Pottermore as HazelCharm112. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, luckily, since I think I would've had an identity crisis had I been sorted anywhere else!

I feel like I'm one of the few really big Harry Potter fans who didn't do the Pottermore thing. I just figured well, it's going to be open in October, why bother? And then October happened, and Pottermore...didn't. And now it's January, with still nothing. Which I'm kind of bummed about, but whatever. It'd just distract me from schoolwork anyway. Did any of you guys buy/get as a gift the Harry Potter Page to Screen gigantic gorgeous book? I got it for Christmas and finished reading it today and it made me so, so horribly sad that there isn't going to be anything else Harry Potter. Really though, it's an absolutely beautiful book and the concept art in it is gorgeous! And terrifying, in some parts, especially talking about the design of the Inferi and the werewolves (I've always had a fear of werewolves. I blame my mother for letting me watch "Silver Bullet" when I was like 7).

I keep hearing that Pottermore is kind of lame. And yeah, I kind of wished it would open, but at the same time I'm glad it's not because I just don't want to be sucked into that madness. I'm so over Harry Potter. They need to make Tamora Pierce movies.

So I'm going to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Orlando on Thursday. I am excited. Ahhh I'm so jealous! I still haven't gotten to go. I'm trying to convince my dad to take a trip down there this summer, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll finally get to see it.

So I'm going to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Orlando on Thursday. I am excited. Damnit, not you, too! Everyone I know has been. :C My family went without me the year it opened even though I'm the biggest HP fan of the seven of us. I had to stay home and watch the dogs.

Oh man, it is so worth it. I spent Feb's rent money on stuff but I don't even freakin' CARE. And I only went on one ride [in the Wizarding World], because I have specific physical issues that prevent me from doing the more extreme roller coasters. But I still got to do the tour of Hogwarts, where Dumbledore talks to you (!) and I saw everything else, including the Flight of the Hippogriff ride, which is a "baby" rollercoaster and therefore scary enough for me.
I went to Honeyduke's and Zonko's and Dervish and Banges' and Filch's Emporium and the Owl Post. The only one I missed out on was Ollivander's, because a) there was a MASSIVE and I mean HUMONGOUS line and b) I kind of want to save something for the next time I come, hopefully with a group of Potterhead friends.
And Butterbeer tastes just like I imagined it would: happiness and magic and tears of joy. Or as the Butterbeer sellers put it, "like butterscotch and shortbread" but it REALLY doesn't do it justice because I actually don't like butterscotch but I loved Butterbeer.
I think I spent the first 10 minutes just looking around with this expression of rapture on my face.
So amazing. Seriously.

Both of my so called best friends went without me and all I got was a measly Ravenclaw Scarf. Sure, I had just come back from Ireland and didn't even have any money to feed myself let alone go to Florida for a week, but they could have at least asked!
