I feel like I don't do enough writing to even be able to answer this >< but I can't really decide. I prefer a computer because it's quicker, easier and easier to edit things. At the same time, though, it's FULL of distractions; my solitaire skills are very, very well-exercised. Writing in a notebook is nice because there are fewer distractions, but because it's slower to write than type, I find myself losing thoughts because I have to write. I also worry because I hate wasting paper (and I feel like a lot of what I write is waste!).

I'm so glad people love commas as much as I do! I want to put them EVERYWHERE. I really dislike writing in books, but oh, you can bet I will write in extra commas where I think they should go.

I've just remembered my pet-name plans. I want an Irish wolfhound, which I'll call Merlin, and I'm definitely getting two rabbits and calling them Peter and Benjamin.

It is also difficult to focus on what you're teaching or trying to teach with discipline problems as well. That was a huge focus for me during my own student teaching experience. You can plan out an entire class, taking up 4 hours of your time, but when you get to finally teach your lesson plan, it could completely blow up in your face because of power struggles in the classroom! UGH! That's the main reason I'd teach at AS/A2 level rather than general secondary school. At my college, we don't have anyone really who's disruptive (sometimes people are chatty, but that's it); the main obstacle is getting everyone engaged. In my English class, I'm pretty much the only person who answers questions and there are 24 of us. Whereas at school, even in the top set (our English/maths/science classes were separated by ability/grades) you got really disruptive people who made it impossible for everyone else to learn.

^I entirely agree with your last point (and would love to read the Quinn rant!).

I think I actually kind of consider my Favourite Book of All Time (The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice) a guilty pleasure, because it's not a classic, or old, or foreign, or difficult, but just wonderful to read. Apart from that, the Georgia Nicolson books by Louise Rennison. They're quick and easy and hilarious.

I don't know if I'd name my children after literary characters, but my siblings and I all have names from literature (that's not necessarily why our names were chosen, but it played its part).
Although, I do love the name Fitzwilliam Darcy. I know people object to him as a character (and I understand why), but I love him and that name.

I also kind of dream of getting proposed to in a poem that uses some of my favorite literary allusions. Same! But I don't really have any faith that the guy would be able to do it adequately. For one thing, I don't count my 'dream guy' (or whoever) as being a writer; I want to marry a carpenter or a farmer or maybe a builder. For another, I just don't think he'd be able to do it well enough; there might just be one word in there that's wrong, but that one word would ruin it (or so I say now, if it really happened, I would probably be too busy crying to really notice).

Yo!

Do people still use 'yo'? My name is Juliet and I'm still doing A levels/final year of school before university, (hopefully English at Exeter). I've already finished A level psychology, and I'm doing philosophy and English Lit. and Lang. at the moment. I watch way too much TV (specifically: Buffy/Angel, Smallville, Supernatural, Friends and crap US teen dramas), and spend too much time on the internet (particularly at the moment when I should be revising). I like to think I can play the piano. I love horses, but can't ride. I drink tea more than anything else (almost exclusively) but I'm quite fussy and it really annoys me when people don't bother to even ask how I like it (or worse, when they ask and then ignore what you tell them). I'm a very... physical(?) talker; I gesticulate and make faces all the time - to the point where I can't actually send texts without smilies and I can't stand talking on the phone. I talk quite loudly and quickly, but only when you get me started on something. I once had a friend tell me she thought I hated her in the beginning because I didn't talk to her (I didn't; I was just being quiet). I exaggerate everything and love using exclamation marks. Um, yeah, don't know what else to tell you, really. Hi!

Hey, fellow Supernatural fan! ! I'm so jealous of what you're studying. I hope my university will offer that kind of stuff (when I get there); it sounds perfect!

I'm highly tangential. No conversation ever stays where it's supposed to go, and I'm kind of okay with that, as where it ends up is usually more interesting. So ask me a question, and we'll tangent our way someplace cool. I do this. All the time. To the point where I rarely actually get to a point. Either the subject has gone off to something totally irrelevant, or I've got too distracted and can't remember what I was going to say. But how can you dislike tea? Tea is pretty much the only thing I ever drink!

Tattoos

I have two/three at the moment. I have the outline of England on the inside of my right ankle, which was my first; there's also a small dot where my hometown is. My second (and third) are on my shoulders. On the left is an infinity sign, and on the right, phi. I got them to go together, so even though they are separate on my skin, I still kind of class them as one tattoo, hence the two/three etc.
The next one I want to get is a dun horse rearing on the outside of my left ankle. My grandma died in April and she was mad about horses (as am I) and Dollar was her last horse, the only one I met and he was a dun.
But I've got sooooo many ideas (including some Supernatural ones! high-five Dodger thirteen!).

"Hence why..."
That one really, really pains me. I have to try quite hard to stop myself correcting it (I used to correct everyone, but it's never been well-received, so I just gave up).
