The Song of the Lioness was mentioned by another Armadillo in another thread and instead of fangirling over there, I decided to just start a new thread and get my Fangirl Geek on here.
That being said, I love Tamora Pierce! Her novels are epic without being over-the-top drama (but they do have their moments) and she presents strong female characters with emphasis on both the "strong" and the "female." These books helped shape me into who I am today, and without them, I'd probably be entirely lost.
The Protector of the Small and Trickster series are my favourites with Squire being my favourite novel of hers that I've read thus far, Trickster's Choice following at a close second.
Any other fans lurking about?

YEEEEES. Big fan. Huge fan. Loved them all, of course. Song of the Lioness and Immortals are my favorite quartets, though the Beka Cooper series is growing on me quite quickly. Have you read that one yet?

I've read Terrier, but I haven't gotten to the second book yet. It's on my shelf awaiting me to read it. That being said, I wasn't a huge fan of Beka Cooper, though I love her descendants and that thief fellow.

Hah, yes, George. He is my favorite of our heroines' love interests. Though that's a lie. I can't choose. Numair and Nawat are also wonderful. Oh dear, I'll be puzzling over this all evening now...

Don't forget Neal and Dom! They really sold Kel's story for me.

YES!!! I wanted to mention Pierce, but put it off! I love her! Although I've only read the Lioness and Protector of the Small quartets. I'm rereading them now!
I think the her novels are the best for re-reading!

I don't remember much about it, besides the fact that it was about Alanna's daughter being taken captive. I'll try to get the Immortals series next, but I don't really like the new covers for them. I mean the girl is pretty, but I hate head-shots for covers.

I hate the new covers, too. Try your local library, then? They're good, but not my favourites.

Yeah, or maybe I can find something on the used books websites.

The Dodger lies! The Immortals series is my second favorite (after Lioness). And if you want a specific cover, try the amazon marketplace (I feel like an ad every time I mention it, but it's so true!). Find the edition with the cover you want, and there's a 99% chance (if it's an older edition) that somebody's selling a used copy of it for $0.01 (+$3.99 shipping, but still drastically cheaper than most other places).

Thanks for the tip! I borrowed Lioness and Immortals from my school library when I read them and no book stores sell Tamora Pierce here anymore. Tortall changed my life! Protector of the Small is also my favourite. Keladry is me, man! <3 When people say Harry Potter was their childhood well, Tamora Pierce's books were my childhood.
