I watch Glee but I kind of dislike the 'fandom' because I think if everyone were honest, they would admit it's a crap show; there is NO consistency in plot/storyline, or even in the characters themselves; the writers just make whatever they like happen to fit in with the music and that's that. Having said that, it is enjoyable to watch and I love the songs and I like watching it, but I just wish people would see it for what it is, y'know? This! Because I do adore Glee, I do, but honestly...the storylines are all sorts of convoluted and make no sense. The fandom, however, is absolutely ridiculous. Most of the ones on Tumblr that I see or used to follow were absolutely some of the most hateful fandom members I've ever come into contact with. If you didn't appreciate, love, and worship THEIR OTP, you weren't worthy. I got so many unfollows for posting something about how I dislike Klaine as it is a poor and biased representation of the homosexual demographic. That's my personal opinion, and I have every right to post that on my blog. But the Glee fandom never ceases to amaze me with its hypocritical judgment. They preach acceptance - but give none. Of course, this is only a select portion, certainly not the entire fandom :] I have plenty of sane and lovely Gleeks on my follow.

I must not have gotten to those parts yet... It really is just the last few episodes.

I think the things that bother me the most about Glee is that the characters seemingly change what they think and feel very quickly and with little to no explanation and that they all switch partners constantly, which is a ridiculous attempt at keeping the show feeling fresh and edgy, when in reality it just makes everyone seem fickle and unrealistic.

That was essentially me. Personally, I like the second season more in terms of character development.

This, yes. Currently there is a huge ship war between people who ship Sam and Kurt and people who ship Sam and Mercedes... The Klainers and Kurtofskians tend to get into some ship wars too. It's true, though, if you don't see eye to eye with other people's ships, you get attacked so fast. But then, there are a lot of people who outright insult the ships...sigh.

Getting serious and crazy defensive/offensive about an OTP in any fandom is ridiculous to me. I mean, the couples are going to be a certain way whether you want them to be or not, so why fight over it, you know?

Yet, people insist on slinging hate for everyone's OTP and defending theirs to the death. And when it comes to Glee, almost anything can happen, really.

Because the fandom seems to think that since every pairing is so volatile....that of course their pairings will happen and if you don't believe so too well fuck you.

And then there is the whole obsession with "endgame" relationships. Which is a different matter entirely. Some people are holding out for their ship to get together by the end. My own ship does this and even if I ship Kurt and Karofsky, I wouldn't be disappointed if Klaine was the end of Kurt's romance on the show.

I don't care who ends up with who no matter what. I mean, I might wish that it had ended differently, but it's not going to affect my life - why should I be so terribly invested? I guess that's just my personal opinion though. *shrug*

It's one thing to be passionate about something...another to be so into it.

I've been a fan of the show since the very beginning. I love sitting down to watch an episode every week--I feel like I received free tickets to a Broadway show! That being said, I think there are better episodes than others. My favorite episode to date is the one with Kurt's father in the hospital. It was a very powerful episode with fantastic music to accompany it.
To be completely honest, I didn't love the season finale this year. I felt like it was rushed and put together. I won't go into detail for those Gleeks who haven't seen it yet, but I wish it had been centered around the group as a whole and not individual on-again-off-again relationships. *grumbles*

I have a love-hate relationship with this show. Sometimes I think it's utterly fantastic and wonderful and perfect, and sometimes I just want to inflict painful wounds on RIB for royally screwing up an episode/storyline/the whole entire show. I definitely think that Glee needs a female writer, since the girls are mostly used to further the boys' storylines and characterization. And when it comes to Glee, I'm kind of a ship whore- St. Berry, St. Fabray, Brittana, Faberry, Klaine, and Samcedes, are only some of my ships.
Don't get me wrong. I love Glee, I really do, but without the music it would be kind of awful. It would make everyone pay attention to the wild inconsistency of the characters and the plot (I actually wrote a mini-essay/rant about why Quinn could be such a great character but she isn't that will be put on tumblr later).

Yeah, I completely agree, afontofnothing. Though I think that maybe without the music the writers might be more consistent because they wouldn't be trying to find music that fits well. A female writer would probably be a wonderful idea, though another thing is that they have three different writers. Of course three different people are going to take things differently...
