I love this forum. I've been hesitant to join forums since the last forum I was active in died a couple of years ago, but this one is great, populated by intelligent people who can discuss things like normal human beings and not like trolls.
I'm excited. My one complaint is that it is hard to use the forum on my smartphone. I know there's nothing you can do about that, I'm just saying.

Honestly, I am really anticipating more deep discussion and debate - regarding literature, mostly, or sure, hot button issues not directly pertaining to English. I feel like a lot of the conversation thus far has been "I like Hemingway", "I don't like Hemingway", "Ah well to each her own". Maybe once fall semester hits we will all be hit with papers and senior seminars and everything and really get down to the nitty gritty of some works eras movements authors theories etc! I want some friendly debate up in here

We have a few that are beginning to get into more debate-like atmospheres, but as the forum is still quite new, I imagine we haven't quite hit that just yet. Still, the "New Thread" button is always an option.

I want some friendly debate up in here I think the more intense literary debate will come in time. For now, we're all easing our way into the forum -- finding common ground, stating basic opinions, etc. -- and once that's out of the way, the deeper conversations should follow. If you want some nitty-gritty now, though, why not start a thread for it? Ask a hard-hitting question, and someone's bound to answer it eventually, and voila! Mission accomplished.

I will soon be starting some topics, I'm sure. I want to let them come to me organically, haha. Also my statement is completely withdrawn as I see people have been doing some serious work on the Lit section today!! yay

I am in love with this forum. I think everyone is very mature and understanding of other people's opinions, and if someone disagrees with another person, it's not the end of the world. Furthermore, I like the rules, or lack thereof. This goes back to everyone being mature enough to not have to set strict rules. I also like the lax attitude about swearing- although I haven't taken advantage of this yet. I've been on certain forums where the admins will ban someone on a first offense when it comes to swearing. Also, I legitimately like everyone I have "met" on the forum so far. It makes me feel good to know that there really are intelligent, friendly people out there.

It's also nice to find a niche of internet where I don't need to worry about ppl wh0 speel liek dis. And I've taken full advantage of the language laxity -- I kind of take it for granted, considering it is the " Fuck[/i] Yeah English Major Armadillo" forum.

It's crawling up on my "Most Visited" list on Google Chrome. It's only behind Tumblr now...
