For readers of the series, be they rabid fans or furious haters.
Personally, I fall under the "rabid fan" category -- I cried so much at the end of the last one; it was so upsetting, and well done, and upsetting[/b]. I got so attached to the characters that each of their hardships came as direct blows. And there were a lot of hardships.
So, your thoughts? May the odds be ever in your favor!

Love it. Cried over it like I've never cried before. Even over Harry Potter.
Will never forgive her for Finnick. Never. Don't even try to explain. NEVER FORGET.
Also, still mixed about the ending. It was so confusing, yet so understandable and yet still understated.

I mean, your daughter just lost SO MUCH and was HORRIBLY DEFORMED and what does she do? LEAVE. WORST PARENTING EVER.

My emotions over Mockingjay are still not settled. There's too many to even try.
FINNICK.
JOHANNA.
PRIM.
GAAAAALE! WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF GALE? SERIOUSLY? SERIOUSLY?!
Mockingjay definitely tops the list of books that left/leave me emotionally raw.
Great series, however. I am definitely under the "rabid fan" category.

I also most definitely fall under the "rabid fan" category. My hypothesis is that Hunger Games is filling up the hole that the last Harry Potter movie left in my heart which is why I'm so like GNWIAUJGVILHNGAZIUH over it. I don't remember a book that made me cry like Mockingjay did.
What do you guys think of the upcoming movie? Personally I'm SUPER freaking excited!

Jennifer Lawrence is a fantastic actress. She's going to do the role so much justice and more. I can't wait for the movie! It looks super-duper-mega-ultimate awesome.
Do you all have a favorite character (even if they inexplicably and undeservedly die at the end)?

Damn, I think I need to re-read the books. I don't remember half the things that happened... I was reading through sobs so some things might have escaped my notice.

Never read it, don't plan to. Don't want to see the movie, either.
Beyond ridiculously tired of hearing about it. No offense to anyone here, just needed to vent a little bit.

Well... okay... but why don't you plan to never read it? Why the hatred, with no explanation? Even I have reasons to dislike Harry Potter, other than the crazy overhyping it gets. You must have more logic behind it! I insist! And I'm definitely looking forward to the movie. It looks like so much fun. Don't recall having a specific favorite character, though I did particularly adore Finnick... *sob*

That's never a good way to get me to do something.

I'm not belittling or anything, but I would point out that 1) you might very well enjoy it, 2) it'll take you fewer than three days to read them all, and 3) keeping up with contemporary literary fads is a good habit to be in. Also, I'd point out that you chose to click on the Hunger Games thread and read all our thrashing and raving and madness -- it was hardly forced on you.

Did I even once reference that it was you I was talking about? No. It didn't even cross my mind that it was you I was discussing. And I didn't read anything posted here, only posted a very brief comment of dislike.

I think it's okay to dislike anything even for no reason, I mean if people were forcing it down my throat I'd be reluctant to read it, too. So, Dodger, I'm sorry that it was ruined for you, because I think you'd have enjoyed it.

I'm of that opinion, too, that I would have enjoyed it if I had simply come across it on my own or someone recommended it to me.

I know how you feel, Dodger. I have yet to finish reading the Harry Potter books because the fan base was just too crazy to try to keep up and I didn't want to feel obligated to finish them. I think I'll finish reading them now that the films are done and the publicity machine for the series winds down. However, I think you'll enjoy The Hunger Games if you ever decide to pick them up!
As for favorite characters, it's a toss-up between Johanna and Finnick. I also like Haymitch, but not as a favorite character.
