I can't believe there isn't a topic on this already!
Do you have pets? How many? What kind? What are their names?
There are six pets in my house. Two dogs, four cats. My German Shepherd Dog is named Atticus, my brother has a Golden Retriever named Jazmine, and the cats are, in order of age: Mushu, Sirius, Sawyer and Captain Awesome. Yes, Captain Awesome. The dogs are girls, the cats are boys.

Addison is my mum's dog and Sammy (named for Sam Winchester from Supernatural) is my brother's dog. I have a cat who is older than most of my siblings and both dogs. I'ven't met Sammy yet, but I will tonight. She's a pup. White Siberian husky.
I plan on getting a dog once I get my own place. I'll adopt one from the local pound and The Boyfriend says he'll get his "own", too.
The fact that you named your dog Atticus is the best thing ever.

Your pets' names are amazingggg! I have just an elderly lab-mix now ): My cat was my baby and best friend but she lived a really long life. I used to have a Maltese, too, who I hated. She ADORED me, though! She would follow me everywhere, want to sleep with me. I just thought she was so gosh darned annoying. I am a cat person at heart because they aren't clingy and don't take shit. Trivia: My doggy is a lab mix but she isn't yellow or black. She is GRAY! My grandparent's neighbors' dog gave birth one day when we were over there, and I got to see her as a wittle pupppyyyy. They let us pick the first out of the litter and of course my family chose the gray one! She was a pain in the ass until old age mellowed her out. She is afraid of thunderstorms and came into my room the other night so that I could protect her from the noises. EDIT: O HAY we can do pictures on here. When she was a puppup:

The fact that she's a girl makes her epic. My dad was tossing out names for her (I actually hadn't come up with a name) and it just seemed to fit her. For a while, she had a big pink spiked collar. It's purple now, because the spikes on her collar were sharp. Sorry for the giant size and the dark pic, but this is her. Jazmine was supposed to be a husky, but my brother couldn't find one. I might name my next dog Cas(tiel), no matter what gender it is. Castiel or Loki.

Be careful if you name your pup Loki. Dogs tend to channel him well. My grandmother named her Rottweiler Loki and he was calm, but wicked smart. Just be prepared.

Atticus is incredibly smart, so that must come through too. Though GSDs are naturally really intelligent, Atti's pretty intelligent. She's just kind of a big chicken. She's actually a really big chicken. She's 65 pounds of muscle with a huge bark, and scared of everything.

I had to cockatiels, first Ricki I, who flew away because of my brothers. And Ricki II, who flew away because of my mom. I miss them so much T_T especially since I had both since they were babies and I had to feed them baby food.
We have a cat named Kuzia, but he only visits us sometimes, he's gone pretty wild.

We have a cat who, I think, is older than time itself. Her name is Mellie. We took her in as a stray, so we don't really know what breed. A few years back, we had a tabby cat named Hobbes. Fucking loved that cat. He got mauled by a pack of dogs, managed to scratch out the eyes of one with no foreclaws, survived through it, through the emergency surgery, survived through the recovery at the vet...and then died when we got him home. If you knew my cat, you would know that he probably just did it to fuck with us and was laughing his tail off in Kitty Cat Heaven.
We also have a mixed mutt named Jack who is the most adorable mischief maker ever. Before him, we had a Golden retriever named Buster that we lost to cancer. :<

My mom's labradoodle, Ollie, was stolen by her ex-partner.
Don't even get me started on this. It might end up on the Rants thread.

I have one cat. My grandma gave her to us because her new husband doesn't like cats. Unfortunately, this means she is stuck with the name Boo Boo. I think that's a terrible name, so I just call her Kitty. Or Margaret. She's pretty much the coolest cat ever, but she's also a complete klutz. She knocks literally everything down, and she falls from everything. She also likes to look out the window and meow at other animals, but the meows separate and they sound like barks. It's quite the hilarious thing to watch.

I have two guinea-pigs: Dougal and Tiki. Tiki is a short-haired albino with a little mohican-type 'do; Dougal is a mushroom-y coloured rosette-haired pig. We've had Dougal for almost a year but he's only just started talking; he's three and until we got him, he lived with rabbits so didn't know how to speak guinea-pig (well, that, and the fact that Tiki is definitely in charge, so he was probably quite scared of her)!
As soon as I can, though, I'm planning on getting an Irish wolfhound and naming it Merlin.

I know what you mean about terrible names for cats. Before he was Captain Awesome, the old lady that owned him named him Furby. That obviously had to go. He's not a Furby at all. He's big and fluffy and has a lot of attitude.

The Maltese we had had originally been owned by this drunkard old woman. She named it "Martini." Yeah, not lying. The dog was renamed Trixie because she was such a tramp.

I've always wanted to have a bunch of fish and give them themed names. I'm thinking Ethos, Pathos, and Logos for my first set. I would totally change my cat's name, but my mom still calls her Boo Boo, and every time I suggest changing the name she throws a fit. I just don't understand why she wouldn't want to change the name to Pearl. When she gets really annoying, I've called her an "elfin child," so having the name Pearl seems fitting. And yes, I do talk back to my cat.

I had to give my cat away because I couldn't handle her particular brand of insanity, but she's very happy with her new moms and fellow kitties now. She just needed a playmate, really, and I couldn't afford a second cat. Mom and I named her Charli because we constantly called her the "Little Dickens." Here's the demon inside peeking out. And back when she was still with me, I wanted to take pictures of her so I had my boyfriend hold her still. He's not strangling her. He's actually quite gentle, despite his lunchbox-sized hands. My mom has a wolf-shepherd pup named Tyee, currently. His name is Chinook Jargon and means "The big boss." He is huge and likes to jump on people -- when he does, he's at height with my 6'6'' boyfriend. And he still has some growing to do. That is Tyee in my grandparent's apartment.
