Look, I have all kinds of respect for Achilles as a character and a warrior, but the question here is who is the better hero. Achilles can be a hero, yes, but he just wasn't in my eyes. As for Hector, I think he's the better hero. Because of his strong family values? You gotta do better than that. Why? Family was important to the ancient Greeks and Trojans, if not the most important thing. And don't even get me started on the Romans and their family values.

We're not talking about the Romans! Tell me why Hector is better as a hero!

We're not talking about the Romans! Aren't we, though? The Romans were (theoretically, mythologically, and more) descended from the Trojans. As for this: I said "I have to consult my books and they are not here." Were you patient and reading, you would have noted that.

I beg your pardon, but I'm significantly less acquainted with the Roman mythology (if that's what you're talking about) As for this: I said "I have to consult my books and they are not here." Were you patient and reading, you would have noted that. Again, sorry I thought you were referring only to one particular instance.

I beg your pardon, but I'm significantly less acquainted with the Roman mythology (if that's what you're talking about) That's unfortunate. I was under the impression that since you were well-versed in Greek mythology, you knew some Roman as well. My apologies for the assumption. I said "I have to consult my books and they are not here." Were you patient and reading, you would have noted that. Again, sorry I thought you were referring only to one particular instance. No worries. Once I manage to get home again, I will try to find the books and answer more thoroughly. I wasn't sure where I was going to be living at the end of the school year, so my stuff is thrown willy-nilly between a few places and my room at home serves more as storage than as a place for me to "live".

Well, I know that it's very similar, but not exactly, so I didn't want to start talking about something I might not know and look stupid. Yay! Can't wait until then. I like Hector a bit more too, even though I think he fits more into a modern hero role, but I feel like there's no one here arguing for Achilles.

I was so mad when Achilles died. I mean, the arrow had to go through his mortal spot of all the fucking places. I also thought that Ajax didn't deserve to die the way he did, either. Meddling gods.

Well, you kind of figure that if it's his week spot, than thats how he's gonna die. What made me mad was the fact that it was Paris, out of all the freaken Trojan heroes, that killed him. But it was his fate. You kind of know he's gonna die since the war starts.

Why couldn't she just fully dip the baby and then pull him out. Use a damn fishing net if you have to, but seriously, just dip the kid in all the way so he doesn't have a weird-ass weak spot.

Or why didn't he go back and dip his foot in there? It's not that hard! Well, I don't think it is. I too was so angry that Paris was the one who shot the arrow. I bet Achilles would have lived if Apollo hadn't helped Paris.
