Okay, okay, I don't know about you but I eat when I read. Not all the time, but I find that I go searching the kitchen cabinets more often than not for snackage to eat while reading. BUT I have always faced the conundrum of WHAT. SO what do y'all eat when you read, if you do both at the same time?

Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner.
Just kidding, I'm not sure I read that much.
Fruits, sugary crap that's bad for you, etc.

CHOCOLATE.
Oh, the question was about what I eat while reading? I thought it was ALL THE TIME.
Seriously, though, my love can easily be bought for the price of Lindt truffles and Ghirardelli mint squares. I drool at the thought.

I have my dad to thank for my incessant need to snack while reading. He always did it, and when I was a kid I wanted to be like him, so I started doing it...and it's stuck. I'm not lying when I say that in the past, I've laid down to read and got a craving for something salty.
Generally I eat food that can be easily eaten with one hand: chips, pretzels, peanuts, sandwiches, etc. Usually, if it requires utensils, I'll put the book down and watch tv or something while I eat it because I hate having to drop the utensil to turn the page, then pick the utensil up, then drop it again to turn the page, etc.

I can't eat while I read. I can barely even drink when reading. When I read, I read. Then I'll realise hours later that I've not eaten all day and am starving and will have to take a break from reading while I fill up.

I forget about eating when reading. Plus, I tend to overeat if I were to eat while reading.

I rarely eat and read at the same time, but if I do it's sweets. When I was younger I would literally never put the book I was reading down; I would prop the book open against the table, blindly stab dinner with my fork, and eat while reading. Kind of surprised no one ever told me off for it.

I once was eating a bag of Hot Cheetos while reading and then realized in horror that my fingers were staining the pages. I don't think I've snacked while eating since.

This reminds me of the time my Bookbinding professor put sunscreen on before handling a student's white book... Oily prints ALL OVER. Profuse apologies. I don't think she'll ever live that one down. A good cautionary tale, though.

See, I have learned to multitask-eat while reading. I have perfected the prop-the-book-against-the-milk-glass while at the dinner table and the use-your-chest-as-a-table-while-in-bed move, too.
