And if, big giant IF, I ever have a kid/kids, specifically a son (though I'm really hoping I don't), Dante. Well what are the odds! I'm planning on getting a dog and naming it Dante. I'd be worried that he'd be confused with the video-game character... unless that's what you're going for.

No. I a) love Inferno and b) think that the name legitimately sounds good. And if it's confused with the video game... wouldn't that kind of point back to why I chose it? Unless I'm thinking of a different game and have no idea what you're talking about... But any name will eventually get ruined by popular culture. When I was younger, I never met any other girls named Olivia, and people had trouble spelling it without help. Now, it's been on the top 10 list for a few years? Sadbeans.

I'm going to have to second Moriarty. So many vowels. Good fun to say.

That is the greatest thing I have ever read. Eliot was a pretty cool cat, if you catch my drift.

I totally want a kindle of kittens to call Eliot's cat names. I like the name Osric from Shakespeare a lot and most girl names from Tamora Pierce's books. Keladry and Veralidaine (if memory serves well) especially. From Mythology I love Athena, Circe and Artemis.

PIXEL. I am getting a little orange kitten and naming it Pixel. Not exactly part of the "English Literature" cannon, but... still brings me joy. And if, big giant IF, I ever have a kid/kids, specifically a son (though I'm really hoping I don't), Dante. Is the reference to Two-Bit from The Outsiders? That's all I could come up with xD Either way, it's a cute name for a cat. I will name some pet of mine Banquo, just try to stop me! Seems like it'd be a good name for a big dog, maybe...German Shepherd >u> Or a husky...<u< There's a lot of Shakespeare names I like, like Banquo, but I also like Laertes and Fleance. Lovely names <3 As for non-Shakespearean literary names...that's a bit harder for me xD I'm a bit picky with names.

No... hmm, I really need to read that book some day >.> One of my favorite Heinlein novels is The Cat who Walks through Walls, and "the cat" is this little orange kitten that they name Pixel. Also: I miss my cats. Damn this whole college-living-situation-equals-no-pets bullshit.

I like Rhett Butler, Blanche DuBois, Angel Clare, Shahrazad, Meursault, Heathcliff, Othello, and Desdemona. They just sound cool to my ears. I think my kids would hate me, though, if I named them after a literary character.
On an unrelated note, I named my car Optimus Prime II.

We should swap book suggestions, because now I want to read that book The Outsiders is pretty good, I read it my sophomore year of high school, I think. Freshman or sophomore. And I feel your pain Every time I came back from break, I missed my cats terribly. It felt odd to be eating in my dorm and not have one of my cats begging at the foot of my bed. I'm so glad I'm home, now.

And warning: it is a legitimate sci-fi novel, no matter what the title sounds like.

I today decided on a middle name for my firstborn: Garamond. (I'm also considering naming a son "Piccolo" and convincing him to become a bassist. Huzzah, irony!)
