I'm a sucker for Russian names, so I'd have to go with Dmitri and Andrei. I'm currently in the process of naming all of my stuffed animals after literary figures x)

This doesn't have to do with book character names, but this year in AP Lang, we learned about the 3 rhetorical appeals- Pathos, Ethos, and Logos. As soon as I got home that day, I bought 3 labs on Nintendogs and named them as rhetorical appeals. Yep. My goal is to someday have 3 cats and name them Pathos, Logos, and Ethos. As for books, I really like Hermione from Harry Potter. It's original and it sounds pretty. I also love Blair from Gossip Girl. I think it's such a classy sounding name. Moving on to more classic literature, I ADORE Pearl from The Scarlet Letter. I love the name, and I love the symbolism. Another favorite is Jordan from The Great Gatsby. My mom told me that I was almost named after Jordan, but I was born in 1994, so she decided against it because she didn't want people to think I was named after Michael Jordan.

My German Shepherd is named Atticus Rose [insert my last name here]. Atticus after... duh, I shouldn't need to explain. Rose because my other middle name for her got vetoed and because of the connection to Doctor Who. I almost convinced my dad to name his big Maine Coon Cal (short for either Caliban - I was thinking more along the lines of Cal Leandros than Caliban from Shakespeare, or Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle). Instead, he's named Captain Awesome (no, I am not joking).
We also have three other cats: Mushu (from Mulan), Sawyer (from Lost), and Sirius (from Harry Potter - he's also black, so it worked). There's Jazmine, too, my brother's dog, but he just liked the name and didn't name her after anything. So that's four cats and two dogs. If I get a beta fish for my dorm room, I don't know what I would name him. Any suggestions?
As far as kid names... I really don't know. :/

He was going be Mario because he attacked the screen as a kitten when we were playing it, but we saw Mulan that same weekend we got him and Mushu it was. Tells you how old he is. I wouldn't be able to pick between any of those names for a fish, guys. Maybe Cas. Or Chuck.

Go by the colouring. If you get a blue beta, name him/her Castiel. If you get a green one, go with Dean, a brown-ish one, name it Sam. Chuck's colour can be red, or white (do betas come in white?).

I pick them based on how pretty they are. So I'd get a male, because the females are so drab. I had a beta fish for a long time and I named him uh... I don't remember, but I had a crawfish named Draco for a long time (We raised them as class pets in the 4th grade and I got to take one home. I think he lived almost until I was in high school, I think.)

I really like Biblical names, that not having anything to do with religion at all. I really like names like Michael, Gabriel, Raphael... and common names like Alexander, Edward (forever a besmirched name) Logan. They just sound so majestic and strong. I mean with Biblical names you instantly think of powerful archangels (unless of course you know some asshole with those names) and then Alexander the Great, Edward Rochester, Catherine the Great, or Petr, I mean at least that's what I instantly think of when I hear the names, not always about the people I know.

And if, big giant IF, I ever have a kid/kids, specifically a son (though I'm really hoping I don't), Dante. Well what are the odds! I'm planning on getting a dog and naming it Dante.
