Hello, Armadillos, from Lynnwood, WA - where it is sunny less than half the year. (Google searches are telling me somewhere between 160 and 165 days of sun per year on average here. I personally think that seems a little high, but what do I know?) I'm Flute, I'm 23 and I'm a former English major; I dropped out of college for personal reasons a few years ago. Right now I'm on my last week of interning with the Children's Ministry at my church, so I'm currently job-hunting. There's a promising position open at a daycare nearby, so fingers crossed and all that. (It's pretty much exactly what I've been doing - in fact, the other girl who interns in CM with me teaches that same position at the daycare's other location.)
I may not officially be an English major, but I do love reading and literature, so I hope my presence will be tolerated anyway.
Aside from reading, I enjoy a good video game or two (or ten) and dabbling in various languages. I love learning about Asian cultures, particularly Japanese. I play flute (hence the name) and tenor saxophone and took two years of steel drum classes in high school.
I am in love with my state and my city. I love the rain and the constant cloud cover. Today I realized that it is almost June and I'm wearing the same thing I was in January - a hoodie and jeans.
I have a boyfriend whom I've been with for 5 1/2 years. He's a computer engineering major. I fell in love with him when I realized we had similar taste in books. (Well, okay, so that wasn't quite what did it, but I'll admit I was overjoyed when I saw some of my favorite books on his bookshelf.)
Well, I suppose that's the nutshell version. Any questions, feel free to ask away. Nice to meet you all! It's exciting to have a forum now.
