I probably wouldn't defend Twilight as much if Potterheads didn't attack every chance they got. Can we please stop equating anti-Twilight with Potterhead? I am anti-both! ANTI-BOTH, DAMMIT! I attack them both equally! If anything, I attack HP more, because I feel like HP-hatred is underrepresented, whereas everyone who's anyone hates Twilight.

OMG OMG OMG I remembered this when I was talking about Lolita but (OMG OMG AUGH): Clare Quilty, in Lolita, the villain who is also a child molester/rapist.
Quil in Twilight, werewolf, imprints on baby Claire.
SMeyer was an English major. COINCIDENCE?
(pretty sure this came from Cleolinda? most of my thoughts on Twilight do)

cleolinda.livejournal.comHer Twilight book discussion entries (linked on the sidebar, for your convenience!) are gold. So is everything she writes. I would also have her babies, btw.

The same thing happened to me. I picked up the series before the twitard plague and found it alright. However, as I kept reading the books they just kept getting worse and worse. To the point that the hard cover copy of "Breaking Dawn" I had been reading wound up being tossed across the room while I scowled, which is saying something considering that my books are my treasures. I felt as if I'd just waisted two days of my precious time that I could have placed into reading something interesting, like "The Dante Club" by Matthew Pearl. :/
