I realize that this is a very broad question with various approaches to it, so I'll ask my specific questions first:
-Do you have to be in a particular place to be reading? Like a favorite chair, etc.? Or can you read just about anywhere, regardless of the environment?
-Do you like to read through books quickly, or do you prefer to savor your selections and read them slowly?
I prefer to read in a quiet place where I can move around, because I can't just sit in the same position for hours at a time. I also like to plow through my reading, and as consecutively as possible. When I start a series, if I have all of the books in my possession I will read them all at once without stopping (this has some major effects on my brain when I'm done).
How about you?

So long as I'm somewhere comfy where I can put my feet up and it's quiet with good light...I'm good.

I like to be able to stretch out. I'm also one of those people who changes position a LOT when I'm reading, especially for hours at a time (which calls to mind a great Kate Beaton doodle about it...I'll see if I can find it) so it helps if I can stretch out my legs, or slump, or sit up, or turn on my side, etc. Of course, this is made difficult if I have to be reading a huge anthology or something, but I make do.
I also love to read through books in a series consecutively, and will go out of my way to get them on hand if I don't have them. Like I just ate through Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, then The Girl Who Played With Fire and am now halfway through the third one. I eat books up. I'm a very fast reader and can go through a LOT of pages in a short amount of time. I think I read 85 books last year alone, a lot of those in two or three days.
Speaking of which, do you guys do a book challenge at all? How do you find you do?

I do most of my reading at work, actually, when we aren't busy. There's good light, comfy chairs, and I generally don't have to interact with my co-workers, so I can get hundreds of pages done a night.
At home, I am a fidgeter. I have to read in my room, or in the bathroom, because every other room in the apartment is too distracting with all the other people and internet and whatnot. But I can't get a good position on my bed, so I jump around a lot. In the bathroom, for some reason, I can just sit on the flagstone floor and read for hours... It's quite strange.

Speaking of which, do you guys do a book challenge at all? How do you find you do? I've taken part in the book challenge for the past two years myself. I managed to beat my goal last year, but that was only after I lowered it a bit. I tend to be quite ambitious. But I read almost 180 books last year, between school and everything. Of course, being able to read at work certainly helps...

I'm even allowing myself to cut back on my long-term goal to read all the classics and read up on contemporary stuff. It's working so far.
