I was just wondering if anyone else on the forum has watched this show! I didn't actually catch it while it was on TV (roomie and I don't pay for TV, so we don't get to watch anything real time) but now that I'm home for the holidays I've watched the whole thing. It seemed to get even more screwed up every episode and it was so awesome and hokey that I couldn't help but love it.
Anyone else? Did you like it? Hate it?

First: No, I have not seen it. ...Yet.
I'm not sure if I'll like this, but everything I've heard/seen seems so deliciously messed up, in a glorious way. Still have absolutely no idea what it's about. Any way you can give a synopsis?

The very, very basic premise is that a couple move themselves and their teenage daughter into this old house in LA that turns out to be haunted by an array of ghosts of people who have died in the house since it was built by a doctor for his wife. My favourite of these ghosts, personally, is Zachary Quinto, who plays a flaming queen of a ghost and is just fantastic. They're not "ghosts" in the traditional sense of see-through and floating, but they're kind of physical presences. They're only seen when they want to be seen but they're so real that the Harmon family actually usually believes they're still alive at first.
It sounds strange, and I thought the premise was kind of hokey, but I really loved it just because it's so ridiculous. There don't seem to be any limits as to what can happen in the show. And while a lot of it was kinda laughable, there were definitely a few parts that gave me the creeps (although, that's pretty easy to do). What I liked the most about it is that a lot of the ghosts themselves weren't actually evil - the ghosts are actually pretty decent (with a few exceptions) and rather the play of "evil" is in the still-alive characters that interact with them in the house.
Really, though, there's a lot of psychological fuckery going on in the human characters in the show and I can see how it would make some people very uncomfortable with the subject matter. The writers pretty much take it to the absolute limits of what is allowed on TV.

I will get around to watching this eventually, if the internet decides to cooperate better than it did with Terra Nova. Apparently episode six doesn't exist.
