My mother always sent me to school with one goal: learn something new. It's been so ingrained into my mind that every day, I analyze what I learned that was new to me that day.
So I want to learn what y'all learned today that was new.
For me...
Today, I learned that I do not like quinoa.

Today, I learnt that my friend's cat has cancer/is going to die, and my granddad has died.
I bring the joy...
Alternatively, I learnt who Carl Froch is.

Today I learned, that I'm a bigger sap than I could have imagined.
Firstly, carrying on the depressing news I learned that Andy Whitfield, of Spartacus fame, has died of lymphoma. Last I heard he was getting better. I cried a little. Also, I've been reading things about 9/11, which does not help matters!
On the happier note: I was also reminded that I've been living in United States for nearly a decade now. Half of my life. More than half of the life I remember. Wow. Time flies.

Today, I learned that there's a really awesome bookstore on Prince Street. Who knew? (A: A lot of people.)
And condolences to all you people who learned about deaths. Those are not pleasant things to learn.

Today, I learned that it's not a good idea to dance in the shower if the dance includes jumping.

Today I learned that is not a good idea to leave your English paper until the day it is due because if you do anything that is not your paper, you will feel guilty.
A couple days ago, I learned that the song "Pumped Up Kicks" is about a mall shooting.

Today, I learned that I should use corn starch to help hold vegan cookies together, because without the eggs they just melt. EVERYWHERE.

Today, I learned (something from every class period edition): - AP Psych: Neurons are like roller coasters.
- Film: Awkward couples show up when you least expect it.
- Advisory: Anonymity brings out the absolute worst in people. Even when the anonymous option is when you're peer-reviewing someone's essay in school.
- Lunch: Caramel rice krispie treats do NOT taste as yummy as they sound.
- AP Lit: I learn so much in AP Lit everyday that I can't even pick one for this bullet point.
- Gym: I'll never be able to bench press 50 pounds.
- Writing: Some people are so ignorant that it fascinates me.
- Foods: Toasters are used to toast things (I hope it's obvious that I'm joking).

Today I learned that there are more people in the world like my mother.
And no, that isn't just a reference to the OP.

Today, I learned that time really does fly, but not always when you're having fun. Sometimes, you're just too busy to notice.

Today, I learned that the traditional playing cards deck everyone knows here in America is from France, and that the different kings, queens, and jacks (King of Spades, King of Diamonds, Queen of Hearts, Knave/Jack of Clubs, etc.) represent different leaders throughout history. For example: The King of Diamonds is Julius Caesar. THe Queen of Spades is Pallas Athena. The Knave/Jack of Clubs is Sir Lancelot.
I also learned that if I'm really desperate and feeling cheap, I can live off of frozen dinners for weeks and only spend around 20$. (Which also translates into more money to go spend on new books.)

Today, I also learned that some people are just never going to like me, and it's not worth it to feel like crap about it. Especially when I did nothing but be nice to them. It's not my fault; they're just not worth my time. It's time to move on.

Today, I learned that whenever you bring your laptop (or any technology) to a repair place, to fix a problem, the said problem will refuse to make itself know. Stupid technology.
