I've thought the fact personality seems to be so accurately typified by just four different components is astounding.
Do you feel psychological typing tests are valid? Can personality be objectified?
And of course, what is your type, and do you feel it's valid? A good Google search will probably yield online tests.

Oh goodness, I took one of these ages ago... I don't recall which one I got (IN_P, I think?), or what exactly it meant, but I do recall being surprised at its accuracy. So... I don't know if I'd call the tests "valid," but I do think they can provide minor insight. You can't judge a person based solely on the results of a multiple choice test, though, so there's a limit to how useful something like this can be.

^+1, basically.
I'm always IN_J. I think it's INTJ, but it could be F.

I was obsessed with Myers-Briggs for a long time. My conclusion is that people are so fluctuating to corner them in one type. (I'm both ENFP and INFP) but it is really useful to help understand people. Honestly, though I knew that people had different opinions and things, I didn't understand how other people used radically different ways to approach problems till I learned personality theory. Anyhow, I'm an XNFP and proud

I took the test once and got INTP, if I recall correctly. I guess if I wanted to label my personality, I'd be okay with my result. I feel that these type of psychological tests are only valid for research or statistical gathering. Labeling people makes them feel like they should define themselves by it.
But I do share my personality type with Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, and Adam Smith, which I think is really cool!

I've taken this test (though I wish I could find it again) and my result was INTP. I think for the most part it has my behavior down but not the careers. I am definitely not a mathematician or a lawyer. I'm more interested in being a librarian/comic maker, both of which don't appear on the list of jobs INTPs would enjoy.
