Am I the only one who's incredibly disappointed with this series? Actually, I know I'm not the only one in the world, but y'know, on this site... No, you're not alone. I'm a bit underwhelmed by the series, but perhaps that's because so many people tell me that it's "OMFGAMAZINGAAAAH!" that I expect...Iunno, GOD! on the television before me. *shrugs* That being said, I do enjoy Nine. I just don't see what all the hubbub is about.

Am I the only 10 fan here? David Tennant owns my heart forever. To be fair though, I am I've not seen much 11 yet. No, you're not alone. And it's not because he was my first doctor, either. I actually saw a series of Four years and years and years ago, with my father, and couldn't stop laughing. Then, when I heard that they had started it up again, I watched it straight through, starting with the first episode of 9. I've seen all of 11's episodes, and I can understand why people adore him, but I will forever think of 10 as The Doctor.

Ten was MY Doctor for the longest time. The Christmas Invasion is his best episode ever, but as the quality of his companions declined, so did my interest in him.

I do love 10 immensely and I think David Tennant is absolutely fantastic but there's something about the 11th Doctor that just gets me. He's often more subtle but at the same time more childlike and alien than 10 ever was and I adore that about the 11th reincarnation.

I LOVE Doctor Who <3 though I have to confess that I've only seen New!Who. This season has been alright, I guess... but I'm mostly just waiting for River Song to show up again. I just hope they don't mess with her story, because the rumors going around... Not sure that I actually like them.

Donna actually was my favorite of his companions, being all sass and fantasticness. I don't think Martha or Rose (unpopular opinion, I know) were all that great.

I really hope we'll be done with River Song soon after we find out who she is because I just don't like her, although I do want to finally know who she is.

I am the only of all my friends who thinks that Amy isn't bad. Something about the whole Raggedy-Doctor childhood-imaginary-friend plotline endears her to me, and makes her severe attachment to our favorite Timelord somewhat more believable to me than that of the companions who only knew him for a few months of their lives. I mean, sure, she's occasionally a bit skanky, but Jack Harkness is the skank of the century and we all adore him -- I sense some double standards in that opinion. So come on, Armadillos -- any other Amy sympathizers?
(Also, the Ood need more love. They're sometimes creepy as hell, but come on! Who doesn't love a mute empath alien or two?

I think all her complexes and "skankiness" are worked into her character well by the sheer fact that she was let down by The Doctor so early in her childhood. I really think it scarred her. I love Amy because she's not afraid of a good adventure and she's witty and funny and so very Scottish. Also I think Karen Gillan and Matt Smith have fantastic chemistry that translates so well on-screen.

If I were Ten, I wouldn't have been able to resist "landing" the TARDIS in space and ejecting her just so I couldn't hear her scream anymore. She was always yelling at someone... Rose started out pretty great, and her departure from the show was a real tearjerker for me. But then she came back. I can't really blame it on Rose so much as I can the writer. I'm convinced RTD doesn't understand the meaning of "emotional investment". Martha...Martha was so forgettable that I literally forgot about her. I was having this discussion with a friend once, said Ten had two companions. "Three." "What?" "He had three. Rose, Martha, Donna." "Who is...oh." She was just...there. She was bland. I love Amy. I love her to death. I'm behind on this season, but I think it started out great, and last season may have been my favorite since the revival, especially The Pandorica/Big Bang. RTD's finales got cheesier and more overemotional as time went on...10's Around the World Trip of every companion he spent five minutes with was agonizing to watch. Moffat wrote about four characters and a broken Dalek and it was amazing.

Moffat wrote about four characters and a broken Dalek and it was amazing. I was similarly annoyed with Donna, though in the opposite way -- I hated her whiny-bitchiness at first, but she grew on me once she got over the whole "Aliens are weird and I'm gonna freak out every two seconds" thing. Rose was... dull. In every sense of the term. Not the brightest bulb in the box, and so incapable of holding my attention. Martha, in contrast, is one of my favorite companions -- because she stands on her own. She's genuinely intelligent. Where the other companions needed everything spelled out for them, Martha would catch on halfway through and actually be helpful (beyond the basic bleeding-heart sympathy we get from all our companions). And I completely agree that this season is looking to be fantastic. I adore Amy. AAAAAH YES. Psychological scarring pulled off without angst! Love it. I am curious to find out more about her, though -- when we first met her, she was living alone in her family home, but claimed to have been raised by "her aunt," whom we have never met but who, assumably, never noticed the Rift. My curiosity. It is aroused.
