RE: country music, my parents still listen to that radio station, and I can sing along to songs I never knew I knew. It's kind of creepy. But I definitely was all up on the Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys--in fact, my roommate and I had a BSB party our first night in the dorm, and she's one of my best friends now. Behold, THE POWER OF POP. (And getting bitched out by the RA the first day because of the sub-woofer.) Also, Shakespeare was pop. So was Chaucer. And Oscar Wilde, and Charles Dickens, and the Brontes and Jane Austen and Mark Twain. So you can pry my Flo Rida from my cold dead fingers, because it's fun. [comic from married to the sea]

I'm done worrying about how people view me because of my tastes. When in doubt, don't care. Shakespeare was pop. So was Chaucer. And Oscar Wilde, and Charles Dickens, and the Brontes and Jane Austen and Mark Twain. Quoted for truth.
