Are there any author blogs that you read? Most of the ones I know of are for young adult authors: Maureen Johnson is HILARIOUS. Laugh-out-loud-tears-running-down-my-face-why-can't-I-write-like-this hilarious. Her blog is almost better than her books. I LOVE all her anecdotes, like the ones from being a rebel in Catholic school. www.maureenjohnsonbooks.com/blog/ Libba Bray is also funny and has some insightful posts. LJ seems to be down at the mo . libba-bray.livejournal.com/Tamora Pierce. No description needed. She has two, one aimed for her readers and another for her politics. tammypierce.livejournal.com/Kristin Cashore. kristincashore.blogspot.com/Naomi Novik, of the Temeraire series. naominovik.livejournal.com/Neil Gaiman. journal.neilgaiman.com/Scott Westerfeld. scottwesterfeld.com/These are all that I can remember off the top of my head. I don't always get around to checking them, but I find author blogs fascinating. They are so close to us! And yet so far.

Do their blogs include a lot about the writing/publishing process?

Most of them, yeah. Maureen has written a fair amount on writing and publishing. I think Westerfeld's wife, Justine Larbalestier, featured posts on writing for a long time (http://justinelarbalestier.com/blog/). I don't know if she still does. I wish that LJ wasn't down, because I would like to say that Naomi blogs as she writes and researches but I can't remember.
Aside but slightly related: the interesting thing is that a lot of the YA authors are actually really close friends. They will get together for sessions and write. While annoying each other hahaha.

THIS. I must find and befriend these people. I read Brandon Sanderson's blog ( brandonsanderson.com) but none others.
