Okay, I'm curious: what's your opinion on literary bands? I've heard some good things, some bad things, and personally, I'm both indifferent and liking them. I haven't heard much, but what I have heard, I like.
Also, how do you define "literary band"?

I say meh. I have heard some of those harry potter based bands and they are pure garbage. But if a band uses literary references or influences I think that it can(and has) work out well.

Literary bands are okay. I'm most familiar with "Wizard Rock" because they seem to be the most vocal on youtube and the like, and some of it is good. If a book touches you enough to write songs about it then I'm happy you had such an experience with a story.
That being said...some of it is just garbage. Give me songs that were written by literary muses any day.

Orchid references things like the Frankfurt school, Marxism, critical theory, and Foucault.
Do they count? I'm not quite sure what literary music is, to be honest.
