For the past year or so I've gotten into the habit of carrying a little notebook around with me, pretty much at all times. I just use a little one I got from Michaels' for $1.50 - it's small, it has a little pen attached to it and it's just the right size while still having enough pages to be useful. I fill it with ideas, lists, ramblings and doodles, and I'm actually very proud that I've kept it up. Left: My old pocket notebook, taped up and filled with stuff Right: My new pocket notebook, with pages from an old crossword puzzle dictionary decoupaged onto it.
So, does anyone else out there have a pocket notebook? What do you use it for?

I used to have a small spiral pocket notebook when I was a kid. I liked to pretend I was a spy and write down observations in it.

I can't deal with small notebooks/pages. I hate them. They're too small to write things in; my hand can't rest on the page properly and it feels so awkward and agh! No, can't deal.

I have....ugh, like 3 notebooks. One is literally, a pocket book, and sits in my back pocked with a pen and I write about whatever comes to mind in it
The second is a regular agenda-like A5 book with lined pages where I write interesting things I find when I read, and ideas for short prose .
The other is a hardback book, A5 sized, where I write philosophical thoughts, both mine and from relevant books, short prose, and poetry, as well as thoughts that come into my head that might be useful later.

I carry a cheap one with me wherever I go. It's very helpful, since I usually need to do things to find any sort of good inspiration. A lot more work than intended goes in there, since I'm not big on transferring once I've begun. Also, now that Papa is on the cover I tend to want to do all of my work in it. i.imgur.com/8uRUj.jpg

I always lose them and can't get into the habit of carrying them with me.
Still, I need something to write my ideas and bits of prose that come to mind. I keep pieces of computer paper in all my bags. Folded over twice into a square, they're a perfect temporary place to write inspiration down, and even reminders for other things, until I can come home and type it into my evernote application (I <3 evernote. It's so perfect for organizing all my ideas and also my obscene collection of gifs. Look it up.). I sometimes lose those too, but it's so less frustrating to lose one piece of paper with a couple ideas than a notebook full of them.

I started out with an A4 notebook to write it - I just found it way too big. I write poetry so usually I'll only use half a page for my writing, and when I write prose it usually isn't that long. Since then I've been using pocket notebooks and they seem to be working for me (right size, can take them anywhere). Now only if I could get over my writer's block...

I have a six inch long by 4 inch wide leatherbound book I keep in my pocket all the time - it was a little pricey for my frugal tastes ($6.00), but it is proving very useful, especially during NaNoWriMo. I'm able to jot down sudden ideas and notes, as well as short passages of my story.
