I'm a newbie to this whole... forum thing, but eh. I'm pretty awkward at times, so I might as well start off with an awkward introduction.
No, Cassie is not my real name, but I can be paranoid and so won't post my real name. So call me Cassie, everyone does anyway. XD I'm seventeen and am an oddball. A few things about myself...
I love music. I may have posted about this before, but I'll say it again. I taught myself how to play piano on my grandfather's organ when I was three (of course, I suck at it now... haven't played in a while). I played clarinet for five years and was better than most seniors by the time I was in seventh grade. I taught myself how to play guitar about two years ago, and I'm not bad. And, perhaps inevitably, I sing. A lot. If I'm not listening to music, I'm making it. I could not go a single day without music; I would rather die.
I love art. Especially painting and photography. I've been drawing since I was little, but my talents didn't really start to refine until I reached adolescence. I'm not as good as some friends, but I try, and the point is that I have fun with it.
I'm no English major... hell, I'm only seventeen. But I am an academic whiz. I'm going to be taking three AP classes during my senior year (including AP English).
My true academic passion is foreign languages. I love them, everything about them. I find it fascinating to learn new ways of saying things, and I've found that learning a new language also refines my English skills. I took French classes for three years, then had to drop it because of schedule conflicts (JROTC, on which I will elaborate in a moment). My teacher, who was actually French, wanted me to jump to French 5 from French 2. Apparently I sound like someone who lives on the Riviera...? Eh. Point is, I speak French as if I was born French. I'm taking French 4, Spanish 2, and Latin 1 for my senior year (only because I couldn't take German 1).
I'm in JROTC at my school and hold the rank of first lieutenant. I'm going to pursue a military career... most likely Air Force ROTC in college. My boyfriend's not too thrilled, but it's the career I want and I'm going for it.
Now onto why I'm here. I write... a lot. I write mostly poetry and novels; I can't write a short story to save my life. I've been working on one novel for three years now and am currently writing its third draft. I'm also beginning a new trilogy that I have high hopes for. I'm inspired by music, emotions, and oddly enough, THUNDERSTORMS. I'm a dork, I'm a geek, and I'm proud of it.
Oh, and I ramble. A lot. As you can tell from this. If you want to get to know me, message me, add me on facebook, whatever. I love meeting new people and look forward to my experience here!
