Do you have a particular writing process? Any special pens, writing paper, location perhaps that helps you write?
Your favourite snack, or a glass of wine?
I can never bring myself to compose any piece of work properly on the computer, so always end up with an A4 hardcover notebook and felt-tip pen, or fountain pen for serious writing.
A few bottles of cider don't hurt either (though has the tendency to make me think I'm the next big thing when that's not exactly the case!)

It needs to be a place in which I'm not totally comfortable. I can never get any writing done on my bed, because I associate that so much with surfing the internet. I've got to be sober (I've tried writing drunk and the words just poor out too quickly for me to comfortable with anything) and I've got to have a cigarette every hour and a half or so. It also helps if I have something to do with my hands when I'm not typing. That's why I like to have some kind of snack/coffee with me while I write. If not, my idle hands will often take me to tumblr.
Oh, and I can't write on a schedule. With my writing circle, we all meet at 10pm on most weeknights to write together. Last semester, I was dating this girl who used to always ask me when I'd be done. Every single time, I'd tell her I didn't know, and then every single time, she'd ask me to give her an estimate. Ugh.

I can't write unless I'm under pressure. I purposely procrastinate my writing assignments because I do my best work when I know I don't have a lot of time. I like to write in my school library (odd, I know) because I'm less tempted by distractions like facebook and tumblr. Whereas, if I'm on my computer in my room, I'll probably start surfing Cracked and then three hours later realize I was supposed to be working.

I have to be up late and slightly tired and delirious. Delirious is the most important part. Like being drunk/high, but without the substance abuse! Wunderbar.

I find that getting high is great for reading source material and coming up with interesting takes on the argument at hand, but actually writing is best done sober. Ideally I'd write in a well-lit, empty room with nothing more than a pad of paper and a stack of books so I can't be distracted, but I usually end up doing most of my work in bed on my laptop in between rounds of Tumblr, Facebook, Youtube and various silly flash games.
