All of you Whovians, you know that awesome music on Doctor Who? Yeah, that was composed by mister Murray Gold and played by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales with Gold conducting. I, personally, am living a Murray Gold Appreciation Life. What about you?
-Who else shares my love for his music? -What's your favorite piece? -Which season/series do you think had the best, overall, soundtrack?

I'm personally not a huge fan...I feel his music is just too bombastic and loud and gets in the way. I'm an old school fan though, so I'm cranky like that.
It's gotten better in recent seasons, however. His "Eleventh Doctor's Theme", Every Star Every Planet is amazing.

See, I like the powerful sound of the music. I agree, though, that when it's used because they can use it and it's not necessary, it's a bit annoying. I think his music adds a bit more of a majestic feel to the whole series which makes it seem more epic.

Eeeee I hadn't seen this thread until now! I love his soundtracks to the series and will listen to them sometimes for study music. Doomsday is one of the best because it is so emotionally stirring. Oh gosh, now I want to go listen to the tracks again so that I can list my favorites. You are a bad influence, I could be doing so much more right now!
People can complain about how loud his music is but I think that it just adds to the show. I don't think that it would be the same show without it.

I LOVE Murray Gold. His music is amazing. My current favourites are All The Strange, Strange Creatures, and This Is Gallifrey - Our Childhood, Our Home.
