Okay guys. Come on. The OTHER wizard named Harry... yeah. The awesome one.
*Cough* Anyway.
My dad introduced me (rather unwillingly) to The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I fell in love with it after the first chapter. The main character, Harry Dresden, is the only wizard listed in Chicago's phone book. And no, he's not the endless purse/love potion/entertainment type. He's the real deal. He fights vampires (all three courts), werewolves (of which there are four types), demons, fallen angels, dark sorcerers, the sidhe of the Faerie courts... you name it.
This series is spun with witty sarcasm, dark humor, and many serious moments that reveal deep truths about life. The first book is a rough read (I mean, come on, he wrote it when he was 19 as a college project), but he gets better and better at writing as time goes on.
I love this book series. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Anyone else???

I've been working on it. I have Storm Front here with me, actually, and was planning on reading it during the summer. The Boyfriend loves them, though.
I did like his short story in the Strange Brew anthology, though.

OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THE DRESDEN FILES SO MUCH.
I haven't read the most recent 2 or 3 books, though. The whole series is on my summer reading list (along with a whole plethora of other things), so I'll be getting to them before too long.

YAY a fellow Dresden fan. And you need to read the most recent one, Changes. It is seriously amazing. I cried. I can't spoil it for you though, this one is one you need to read on your own.
Also, I can't wait for Ghost Story to come out next month. I think we'll be seeing more of Mortimer the Ectomancer, especially after the ending of the most recent book... but again, you need to read it.
Changes is the best one by far, but I find that I like Grave Peril a lot too. It's my second favorite (lucky me, I'm reading it right now, only because my dad took off with Changes and I don't know where it went). Which book is your favorite so far?

I've read them all up to Turn Coat (and beyond). I just can't get through Turn Coat, I don't know why. And apparently it's one I can't skip...? I like them all, though. I actually started with White Night then went backwards for a bit before skipping to the beginning and reading forward.

White Night is great, there's an excerpt from that book that I retyped and copy pasted on to my Facebook and Pandora, as well as emailing it to all of my contacts. That excerpt is seriously something I live by. My signature shows a part of it, by the way. I may post it later.

I saw the series on netflix and watched a couple. It's alright, but I hope the books are better.

The show is so different from the books. It's horribly disappointing. I really wanted the Blue Beetle and instead we got a Jeep.

That confirms it *adds the books to reading list*

I also love the Dresden Files and am trying to spread the joy of the Other Harry (who is also the Best Harry) to everyone I know, and I am anxiously awaiting Cold Days even though it probably won't be out until summer.
