Soooo yeah, onlyaworkingtitle dragged me here last night and I promised her that I'd check it out today. And, as promised, here I be!
I'm not an English major--I love me some history--but I hear I'm not the only one. I do like language, grammar, and books, though I've not read or gotten the chance to read many of the "great" works.
I also love the Oxford comma.
And I do believe I'm out of things to say here.

If you enjoy books and the Oxford comma, then you'll fit right in. :-D

PS: How do you feel about my referring to you by your Real Person First Name? PPS: How are you liking the Fez so far? (They will completely judge you by your reply. Make sure it's grammatically correct.)

I'm also a history major! I just double-major (among other things). What's your favourite time period and place? PPS: How are you liking the Fez so far? (They will completely judge you by your reply. Make sure it's grammatically correct.) She's not kidding. We will judge you.

I love U.S. history, and the later it gets the more I like it, up to the 1980s, at which point I lose interest. The 1950s are my absolute favourite, though. I also enjoy the Vikings, but I don't know tons about them.
Before I reveal what I think of the Fez, would someone mind telling me what exactly the Fez is? Additionally, why is it capitalised?
...Unless you folks mean fez hats, in which case they're pretty cool, but brimless and therefore not as awesome as, say, fedoras.

Before I reveal what I think of the Fez, would someone mind telling me what exactly the Fez is? Additionally, why is it capitalised? A Fez is the animal-group name for a collection of armadillos. Murder of crows, school of fish, fez of armadillos. Since we are Armadillos, our collective title is Fez.

OH! That's what the word you were saying was!
I enjoy it here! Everyone types so nicely, which I am simply not used to seeing on the internet. I know it's to be expected with so many English people, but it's still wonderful!

We totally don't also use the word Fez because a lot of us are incurable Doctor Who fans, and "fezzes are cool".
Nope. Not at all.

The 1950s are my absolute favourite, though. We can totes be friends. I love the 10s-50s, though the 20s and 30s are my particular faves; however, my personal area(s?) of research stem from the classical era.
