I'm sure most writers have heard about this site. It's where you're tasked with writing a story using only six sentences. It's a great writing exercise, and it holds a sweet space in my heart because my first publication was in their print anthology. So, this is a thread dedicated to six sentence micro-fiction. Write some!

Danny leaned up against the washing machine in the basement, occasionally scratching at his hairy neck and cheeks. Saturdays were his typical laundry days, but an unexpected run in with a pile of dog shit, most like left my Mrs. Fender's basset hound, had left his favorite rainbows soiled. He hummed a little of Prince's "Little Red Corvette" and absent-mindedly paced around the gray room, wondering how many year in prison he'd risk if the basset hound met with an unfortunate "accident." That's when he heard the coughing coming from upstairs, and since he lived alone, he immediately figured the sound was coming from an intruder with a bad head cold, and he shivered as he remembered he'd forgotten to lock his front door. Danny grabbed a baseball bat from the corner and slowly crept up the rotting wood stairs, their creaking seeming defeaning. The last person he expected to see at the top of the staircase was Mrs. Fender dressed in all black, stuffing his valuables into a large burlap sack, like a character from an old cartoon.
