I adore Angela's dad, and especially how he has given Hodgens two tattoos that he doesn't remember getting!

I adore Angela's dad, and especially how he has given Hodgens two tattoos that he doesn't remember getting! What I didn't like is that after that cliffhanger when he wakes up in the middle of the desert with the tattoo, they don't bring it up at all in the next episode! I was like EXPLAIN! I want to see reactions!!

I was so sad about Vincent! And, the part that was the worst for me was the singing of Lime in Da Coconut. Sweets realized something that they could have bro-ed out together, after he died ;(. I love Angela's dad. I think that the Bones crew made a great choice choosing Billy Gibbons because it fits the character of Angela well, having him as her dad. I want to see the tattoo again!

The night I watched the Glee episode of Sue's sister's funeral followed by the Nigel-Murray episode was pretty rough. And I was SO happy when they named the baby after him!

OMIGOSH YES BONES
I liked the premiere well enough, mainly because it was so nice to see those old characters again. I missed them bunches. And it was fun seeing Booth and Bones bein' all mushy and whatnot. But in terms of the episode itself... meh. I've liked others more.

Ouch. Miscarriage, really? That's harsh. But I think the only reason they wrote in the pregnancy was because the actress herself was pregnant and that's how they decided to deal with it. And original Brennan didn't hate kids, or not really, remember when she wanted a kid with Booth in like season 3 or something? But I somewhat agree, this is a really drastic change from the previous relationship.

And original Brennan didn't hate kids, or not really, remember when she wanted a kid with Booth in like season 3 or something? But I somewhat agree, this is a really drastic change from the previous relationship. Toootal agreement. Another likely reason they added BABIES to the story (SO MANY BABIES) is that television has a "generation" of about seven years; by the time they get to season 7 or 8, the viewership has aged and isn't as interested in watching the Same Old Dynamic as they were when the show started, so they have to change the dynamic and draw in a new viewership. It's happened with several shows that started around the same time -- Grey's Anatomy has become FULL OF BABIES, House was actually in a relationship with Cuddy last season and she HAD A BABY, and even The Office has a whole slew of pregnancies for their 8th season (or so I gather from their Wikipedia page). Since, when the show started, they were aiming for the early-20s-demographic, who are generally interested in plots with unresolved romantic tensions and whatnot, that original viewership is now in their late 20s or early 30s -- more interested in stable romances and BABIES. SO MANY BABIES. So they settle down all their up-in-the-air relationships (Angela and Hodgins, Booth and Bones) and get them to start popping out BABIES (not necessarily in that order...). So it probably would've happened even if Emily Deschanel wasn't preggers IRL, though maybe not this quickly.

That makes so much sense. I love being a part of people who love analyzing things to find the right answers.

I love Bones, but holy shit, leave the fucking babies out of it. I feel like it is SO freaking cliche, as seen by the shows Nora has provided as examples. There are other ways of continuing a show that don't involve a "new generation." And as for the "right answers" -- you should know as an English major that there tends to be no completely correct answer, please and thank you. I was just expressing my opinion that I don't care for the baby-theme. And you should read the rest of my post, especially the part where I agree with you, instead of jumping down my throat and picking on my word choice. As for there being no right or wrong answers in literature, that should become it's own topic. Only thing I will say that it depends on what you're talking about. Also, I don't care what your opinion is about babies, hate them, love them it's all up to you. It's your opinion. But saying that someone should have a miscarriage just because you don't like babies is just down right cruel, and unnecessary.

Also, I don't care what your opinion is about babies, hate them, love them it's all up to you. It's your opinion. But saying that someone should have a miscarriage just because you don't like babies is just down right cruel, and unnecessary. Okay, a) Angry tone is not appreciated! No one attacked your point of view, Lobster, so the defensiveness is entirely unnecessary. Please don't bring anger-drama to the forum. b) The television term "generation" doesn't apply to the generations of characters, but to the viewership. The writer's job is to make the numbers go up, and it's been proven that after seven years of a show, the numbers go down unless Serious Changes are made -- often in the form of marriage and reproduction, but sometimes through death or travel or whatever else to mix up the demographic while keeping the established episodic pattern. Grey's Anatomy for example, didn't just add babies, but also merged the old hospital with their rival, adding tensions in the staff. Babies are the easiest example to spot, because they're kind of a big deal, but it isn't quite so clear-cut as "new television generation = new character generation." c) Saying that a person should have a miscarriage because you don't like babies is cruel, yes, Marina; saying that a character should have a miscarriage isn't. The characters aren't real, and a miscarriage would be an entirely valid (and very interesting) plot. "Cruelty" does not apply. Now I have picked apart EVERYONE'S ARGUMENTS. Are you better now? Can we go back to being friendly? If not, go sit in a corner and think happy thoughts about fresh-printed books by wonderful authors, or the feel of high-quality paper, or the smell of old ink until you can. HAPPY THOUGHTS, PEOPLE.
