I wanted to ask - is it just me, or is dubstep really bad?
I feel like Armadillos are likely candidates for camaraderie on this issue.

I'm inclined to agree with you.
I have a lot of friends that love dubstep and honestly, I don't get it. I enjoy dub, I enjoy house, I enjoy everything that points towards a love of dubstep but... it just sounds mechanical and forced and far, far, far too repetitive.
You'd think the inner stoner would love it, but no.

I've tried really hard to like dubstep. I just can't do it. There is nothing likable about it. I just don't understand it.

I don't think I'd call it bad music, but I'm definitely not the biggest fan of it.

I do not like dubstep. I don't get why people think it's so amazing.

Can't fucking stand it.
Edit: Except for James Blake, and that's only barely dubstep.

I... don't even know what dubstep is. After this thread, though, I doubt that I want to.

It sounds like pots and pans being banged underwater... autotuned.

I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I'm a hip hop dancer, and I've danced to dubstep music before, so I can tolerate it.

I enjoy dub, I enjoy house, I enjoy everything that points towards a love of dubstep but... it just sounds mechanical and forced and far, far, far too repetitive. A friend of mine is a big dubstep guy, so I invited him round for an evening of education on 'Music that is similar to but better than Dubstep'. I went from the origins of pre-reggae through to drum 'n' bass. He listened enthusiastically for a couple hours, and I thought I might have made an impact, but then -- 'By the way, do you know Skrillex?' Up came youTube, down went my hopes. I know! Everyone goes on about it being good stoner music. They're clearly smoking something different.

Yeah, when people say "dubstep is stoner music," I think they're talking about cocaine.

You wound my Glee-loving spirit. It's the only music I'm mildly ashamed of admitting that I listen to but I absolutely love.
Ever since one of my friends says he "rapes" the replay button when he plays dubstep I am very, very, very wary to listen to it. I tried listening to it once but I couldn't understand how that was music.
