Anyone here also read comic books? Big two or smaller companies. Web comics too.
I mainly read DC and, unlike some or most, I'm excited for the new relaunch!
I also read X-23 from Marvel and would like to get into more of Xmen eventually.
And of course I read a lot of independents and graphic novels. My favourite writers are Phil Hester and Ross Campbell.

I read the Buffy and Angel continuations, and a whole bunch of webcomics (Darwin Carmichael is Going to Hell, Freakangels, Hark, a Vagrant, Johnny Wander, Least I Could Do, MYth, Phoenix Requiem, Pictures for Sad Children, Questionable Content, The Pale, and xkcd).
Have read a good deal of manga, but have mainly fallen off of that wagon. Still keep up with favorite series', but out of touch with the genre as a whole.

The only web comic I read now is Hark! I had an argument about contemporary art with Questionable Content's writer and can't stand it anymore because he was such a dick! haha I really want to catch up on the Buffy and Angel comics, the art looks really nice. Are the stories any good?

You may recall that the Angel series ended on a bit of a cliffhanger? L.A. literally (yes, literally) going to hellp, hordes of demons and dragons showing up to fight our heroes, Wesley being dead? Ringing any bells? The comic resolves All Issues and Then Some.

The only comic books I really read are Spider-Man, especially Ultimate Spider-Man. Although I used to read Teen Titans, too. They just stopped having new ones at my public library. :C I've been meaning to get into new series, though.

Did anyone read Sandman? I only just got around to reading it a few months ago, and oh my Gallifrey, it is one of the best things I have ever read in any form. Gaiman really is a legend.

Sandman's awesome, but my favorite Neil Gaiman comic series is Marvel 1602. It's actually one of my favorites, followed closely by Max Brooks' G.I. Joe: Hearts & Minds miniseries. Yes, I like those even more than Watchmen, you may now gather your pitchforks.
In Marvel, I tend to stick to Daredevil, and in DC, I go with Black Canary, Static Shock, or the Flash. And, obviously, I have a deep and abiding love for G.I. Joe, now published by IDW.
Has anyone read The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? I'm trying to figure out if I should get the first volume for a friend's birthday. She really enjoyed From Hell, and her favorite book is Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, so it seems like it'd be up her alley. Thoughts?
ETA: Ahaha, Scott Pilgrim. *points to icon* I liked that series, too, though not as much as the others I mentioned.

Annie, you'll be happy for the new series of Static Shock in September then?

YUSSSS. Though I still haven't picked up Henderson's special--the only serious comic book store is downtown and I hate parking there (and, since I'm not living in town at the moment, I can't take the bus). I guess I could order it online? I'm pretty cranky at DC for cancelling Henderson's series, but I'm excited that Static is getting a title ALL TO HIMSELF. (I tried to like the Teen Titans, I did! It just...did not work. I like the show, but not the comics, for some reason.) Hey, since we're English majors, how do y'all classify comic books? I tend go by the writer's last name or by publisher, and kind of ignore the artist ( I am a terrible person. I know this.)

Well, I split the American comics (of which there are few) from the manga (of which there are many). The American comics are really all Buffy-verse, so I can organize those in chronological order of spin-off, but the manga just gets alphabetized.
