*waves* I decided I may as well make one of these. I am procrastinating from Physics - I have an AS exam tomorrow afternoon, and I've spent all day doing revision. I'm 16, 17 on thursday I love music, although I am not musically talented in any way, shape or form. Well, I do have grade 1 violin, and my guitar is sitting next to me, but that does not mean I'm any good at it. I currently do English Lit, Biology, Physics and History at sixth form, and I am going to fail Physics (see above) My username comes from a song by my favourite band, My Passion, whom I have already mentioned in the Music forum. My life choices currently go between Forensic Science, English or History. Bit of a mix, but hey.

Welcome to the Fez, youngling! What brings you to the FYEMA forum? I assume you're a fan of the miracle we call "books"? Any in particular?

Fez's are cool. I am indeed a fan of the miracle known as 'books'. I have many favourite books, but the Mortal Engines series and The Hunger Games trilogy have to be the top two. I love Sherlock Holmes stories too. This is a recent love, brought on by both the Robert Downey Jr. film and the BBC Sherlock tv series.

The Hunger Games is fairly high on my to-read list, but I've never heard of the Mortal Engines. What's that one about?

It's set really far in the future, it's a dystopian world. The whole world was pretty much destroyed in this thing called the 60 minute war, which was basically air-to-ground missiles and things like that. This led to cities starting to move to survive, and they created this thing called 'Municpial Darwinism', which is pretty much what it sounds like - survival of the fittest for cities. It's really good. There's four books in the main series - Mortal Engines, Predator's Gold, Infernal Devices and A Darkling Plain - and so far there's also three prequels - Fever Crumb, A Web Of Air and Scrivener's Moon.

I read Mortal Engines when I was in Year 7 or 8 [translates to age 12 or so] and I remember it being excellent, and I couldn't find the sequels which was very disappointing. I'll try and find them tomorrow.
