I'm Eryn. I'm 19. I'm not an English major. I would be if I weren't so set on my elementary education major. I live in Virginia. I like to make jokes about my city that sometimes don't make sense to anyone that doesn't live here. I like Boy Meets World, Rilo Kiley, Empire Records, and Oscar Wilde. I'm also pretty partial to Charlotte and Anne Bronte.

AAAAAAH BOY MEETS WORLD. I knew I wanted to be an English major when, in the last episode, Mr. Feeny said to Corey, "Go into the world and do good," and Corey said "You mean 'do well,' Mr. Feeny?" and Mr. Feeny said "No, Corey. I mean do good," and I said "OH I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE MR. FEENY."

Haha, that is the best story of figuring out how you wanted to be an English major ever. Sometimes when I've watched way too much Boy Meets World I want to teach 6th-7th grade once I get my degree because I want to influence lives like Mr. Feeny did.

Why not Emily Bronte?
And wanting to influence lives (for the better) is one of the most honourable things someone can do, in my opinion. I applaud you for wanting to teach, especially younger children.

Wuthering Heights annoyed me. I spent the entire time I was reading it wanting to slap everyone. The writing itself didn't bother me but the story and the characters just put me off.
Thank you. I'm planning on teaching third grade. It's the first year, at least in my state, where the students take the state standards of learning tests. I want to be the first teacher to teach them stuff they have to know and I want to make it fun so they won't hate it as much later on in life hopefully.

Understandable, concerning Wuthering Heights. I actually like the book because it's like reading a soap opera. Everyone is so freaking crazy; it's a riot. That's very noble of you. I wish you luck with that. Third grade was the year I started getting yelled at for reading books under my desk, so...I don't think of that year fondly. But I hope you won't be like that with your kids.
