Yes, I dislike it because I hate damaging books. Legally, it's okay, though. And yet you make notes in your copies. Is this not a variant of damaging them? It took twenty-one years for me to accept that textbooks are valid for notetaking considering they are aimed specifically for study. That being said, I cried (on the inside) whenever I marked up one of those books. Except Whitman. Fuck Whitman.

Aside from that, maybe it will take you another 20 years to accept book burning? I think that I can turn you to the dark side if I host a book burning where you can destroy a copy of Whitman and Moby Dick.

Maybe Walt should go ghost post in the thread about words you overuse.

If you're into burning books, then by all means knock yourself out. However, I prefer selling them off. At least that way I have money to buy new ones

I'd only burn the Twilight novels. There are other books I really don't like, but I'd rather give those ones away to people who actually enjoy them or might.

(Loosely) relatedly: Only recently, glancing at the novel, I realized that Montag is named after a paper manufacturing company. And Faber, of course, is a maker of pencils! What a sly thing my subconscious was, to name them thus. And not tell me! — Ray Bradbury (about the names of two characters in his novel Fahrenheit 451 that stop the burning of books)
