Heyo, Armadillos! I'm not particularly interesting, but here goes: -Carolyn -Junior -English Major (creative writing emphasis) -Art Major (graphic design emphasis) -Whovian (Five, Nine, Ten, and Eleven are my Docs!) -Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and mystery are my genres of choice. -I like grammar, but it's not my be-all and end-all - If I'm writing formally, I want it to be correct; otherwise I'm not overly bothered. -I hope to have a career that allows me to utilize both of my majors (no, I don't want to teach!) -Future plans hopefully involve animation school. Or a Master's degree in sequential art. But I am broke, indecisive, and want to travel so who knows what'll happen. -I don't write nearly as much as I should, but when I do, I prefer scriptwriting (usually for comics.) -I'd say I watch too many British television shows, but I don't think that's possible. -my all-time favorite word is defenestration. I post more art than writing to the web (though I've got a couple of comics in the works) and can be found at the links in my signature

Go to grad school in another country! That fulfills the education and travel aspirations, plus many European countries have drastically cheaper universities than in the States (thus getting around the "broke" issue).

I believe, though I may be wrong, that the University of Southern Denmark charge nothing for tuition for a lot of their courses/degrees.

-my all-time favorite word is defenestration. I need to post this under the Favourite Words section, or maybe you could do it. I love the word defenestration as well! Did you hear about it from the Defenestration of Prague in history class, or pick it up by yourself?

Go to grad school in another country! That fulfills the education and travel aspirations, plus many European countries have drastically cheaper universities than in the States (thus getting around the "broke" issue). I'll definitely look into that! Living expenses are another obstacle I'll have to tackle (but those are rising everywhere, so I don't know how much difference it'd make living in the US vs. abroad) but going to school in Europe would be amazing (I am looking at one in Vancouver... which would at least get me out of the states!) I believe, though I may be wrong, that the University of Southern Denmark charge nothing for tuition for a lot of their courses/degrees. I took a look at their website, and the tuition does seem very reasonable. Unfortunately, they don't appear to have any art-related courses (unless I'm looking in the wrong place) but perhaps there are other schools with similar rates that would have what I'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestion! I need to post this under the Favourite Words section, or maybe you could do it. I love the word defenestration as well! Did you hear about it from the Defenestration of Prague in history class, or pick it up by yourself? I'm pretty sure I first came across it in my AP European History class - it's one of those words that's near impossible to forget once you've heard it

I went abroad for a semester and on-campus housing with a meal plan still cost less than a semester's tuition at my university in the states.
