Hello, my name is Cat and I'm an English (and history and classics minor and concentration in medieval studies) major. I'm the Vice President of the Xi Delta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, was inducted in Fall of 2009, and I am graduating next spring.
I never know what to say in these things.
Some of my favourite things are Supernatural and reading, specifically folklore and mythology. I'm a regular walking encyclopedia of weirdness, you might say. I am also (quite) short, all optimistic 5'4" of me.
Let's see, what else....
My English studies range a lot, but I prefer the older "stuff." As I said, folklore is one of my favourite things - I even went so far as to create a folklore society at my university.
I am British (in that my nationality contains both English and Scottish - thus British) but I grew up in the Midwest. I have a love-hate relationship with the Oxford comma in that I hate it and it loves to make me miserable. Slanted dashes and I are awesome, though. We tight, yo.
I don't like censoring myself, but I will if necessary (and I decide what's necessary). I also hate being told what to do.
That's...it, I think. Any questions? *adjusts glasses*

Oh, here's a doozy question: What are you planning to do with that English (with history/classics/medieval stuff) degree?

D: My friends all tease me because everyone in the Midwest is so bloody tall. >< LOVE TO THE FOLKLORE. Oh, here's a doozy question: What are you planning to do with that English (with history/classics/medieval stuff) degree? There should be a fuckyeahfolklore tumblr, if there isn't already.... What am I planning to do with it? Why, whatever I want! That being said, I've no idea. Probably grad school. Or become The Librarian.

I FORGOT SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT.
I love hockey. I'm very rapidly becoming a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan (Marian Hossa <3 <3 <3) and have been since November 2009 (thus, BEFORE they won the cup. Call me a bandwagoner and see what happens. Just see. >> ).
Oh, and I'm twenty-two (22). My birthday was just May 22nd, so yeah.

I actually mean this librarian: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Librarian:_Quest_for_the_SpearThat being said, the idea of being a perpetual student appeals to me. I want to travel, to learn and explore, to experience life as, to me, life is all about experience. If you aren't doing anything, you aren't living. Sitting around on my arse all day (as I have been doing since my parents are in England for the past week and I'm required to babysit) drives me up the wall. I'd much rather be doing something. But post-undergrad, I have no idea. *shrugs* Law school or grad school for folklore study or just taking a year off and backpacking through...wherever. Unfortunately, all those things require money, dinero, moolah, cash, etc. and I'm Flat Broke.

And oh goodness paying for grad school let's not think about that.

Hi Cat. I would just like to say that your major sounds like tons of fun. And I'm not being sarcastic! I would get a minor if I wasn't such a wimp.
