Call me a terrible nerd, but I just started watching this too-short series over the weekend and....MY GOD HOW IS SOMETHING SO LOVELY EVEN REAL.  Nothing will ever top Doctor Who and Harry Potter for me.....but Firefly is definitely in my top five favorite fandoms! And I'm not even finished yet! I'm going to watch Out of Gas tonight! Favorite Character: SIMON. <3 <3 .....which means he's probably going to die in Serenity. *sigh* My favorite characters always die. |

I had already watched Serenity by the time I stumbled upon Firefly. Don't get me wrong, I had heard of the show before, but I never looked into it. Anyways, when I saw the show, I was a bit... out of place. I thought the movie came out before the show and the show was there to expand the movie! xD So very out of place, I was.
I really wish it hadn't been canceled; I feel cheated, even though I never cared for the show until after it was canceled... :/

Favorite Character: SIMON. <3 <3 Not to start anything, but I always saw Simon as the least interesting character of the bunch.... My favourite is, of course, Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds. Jayne comes a close second, what with his crazy antics. I also adore Little Miss Kaylee Frye. Easily my top three favourite characters. As for my favourite episode, "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and "Jaynestown" top the pile, with "Out of Gas" following in at a very close third. |

My roommate had me watch Firefly and I love it so much. I love all of the characters, really. I thought the writing was brilliant and it was always so funny at all the right moments.

I just got Netflix for a free trial and they have all of Firefly, so I started watching it again.
Gods I love that show. Fave character is definitely River.
(My best friend and I have decided that she's the Zoe to my Mal.)

I think I'm the only one with this opinion, but... I watched a couple of episodes after a friend of mine threatened to disown me because I didn't watch it. So maybe I went in with too much expectation.
I'm sorry, I thought it was really boring. It's written well, but it didn't even hold my attention long enough to finish the little amount of episodes it had.

That being said, you still have taste since Castiel is your avatar. |

Ha-ha thank you. I felt kind of bad for not liking it though, especially because I love Nathan Fillion in Dr. Horrible and Castle. And most of my nerdy contemporaries love it, and I wondered if there was something wrong with me. Maybe I need to give it another try.

I would not personally be adverse to this, and would recommend it. Sometimes it's best to revisit a work you didn't like when you were young as you find out that you mightily enjoy it now that you're older.

Well, I'm disappointed that you didn't enjoy it as much as I did, but I acknowledge the fact that you have your own opinion and I can't do much to change that aside from encourage you to revisit the work. |
