For those that write on paper, what is your favorite utensil to write with?
For poetry, I use my gel pens (particularly my Pilot G-2 .05) and write slanted. For prose I generally use ballpoints and the writing stands up more, and is a bit sloppier because I'm writing faster.
Though this probably should go under Quirks of the Armadillos. I just realized that, and I'm not sure if I can move it or not... /edit

My favorite pen is the Pilot Precise V7 Rolling Ball, fine-tipped, black ink. Use it for everything I can't do on a keyboard.

Pilots are excellent pens. Do you know the difference between mine (G-2 .05) and a Precise?

Nope -- I just read the side of mine. I'd guess, though, since it's a V7, that it's a .07mm tip instead of .05.

I'll have to check those out.
I'm kind of absurd. Whenever we go to CVS or Staples or any place that has pens, I stare at them and try to buy them all.

My favorite pen is the Pilot Precise V7 Rolling Ball, fine-tipped, black ink. Use it for everything I can't do on a keyboard. ...I use the V5 in various colours. I use blue for "headings" in my notes and green for writing under the heading. Purple and light blue are for when I don't have the other two. I'll have to check those out. I'm kind of absurd. Whenever we go to CVS or Staples or any place that has pens, I stare at them and try to buy them all. I'm the exact same way. My mother jokes that I should join SSA: School Supplies Anonymous.

They come in that many colors? I've only ever seen black ones. I must buy the colors immediately!

Bic fine-point biros (the yellow ones) are my pens of choice.

pencils. I make way too many writing mistakes to use a pen.

Call me boring, but I adore BIC ballpoint pens. The ones you can see through. Black ink only; I make a mess of myself if I try to write in any other color.

Sharpie pens (black for regular writing, colors for notes) or Pentech Sensor .7mm mechanical pencils. I'm not kidding you when I say I asked for these pencils for Christmas. They haven't made them for a few years and I had one that I used taped up for forever because I loved it, and then I lost it. I couldn't write by hand for months. These, but I got three blue, three red and three black. The black and red ones are for back-up in case I ever lose all three of my blue ones. The blue ones are my babies.

Sharpie Fine Point pens. I'm actually known as "the Sharpie girl" in my creative writing classes. My stepsister gave me two packs of assorted pens for my birthday, and sadly, most of them are on their last leg now.

I'll have to say, I only use my Sharpie ultra fine points for drawing, though Prisma pens have been recommended to me.

I have so many favorite pens. The best are probably Uni-ball Super Ink and Uni-ball Vision Elite (as you can probably tell, I love Uni-ball pens).

Man, I love Pilot G2's. I won't write long hand with anything else. I carry a blue one on me everywhere. I like the 7's and 10's though.
