What about Nathaniel Hawthorne? I haven't seen him mentioned yet unless I'm just blind. A friend said that if she wrote like Hawthorne, she thinks she would have failed every essay and I really agree.

I cannot stand John Steinbeck. I've only read Of Mice and Men so maybe his other books are better. I just could not stand his writing style. I got bored with it.

Aw I enjoy Dickens, haha.
On the hate list: Chuck Palahniuk, Dan Brown and J.K.Rowling.

Also Dan Brown is bad in my opinion. Chuck is ehhh Umm did i mention Nicholas Sparks? He compared himself to Hemingway, says Cormac McCarthy is a bad writer, and says he has never written a romance novel -___-

Yeah, Sparks is the one of the worst. Not to mention he has an ego the size of Jupiter.

How does he justify this belief that "he has never written a romance novel"? This... does not compute. Please note my frying brain.

I think he said something along the lines of his books being like real life, not romance novels.
Which is a big pile of poo.

I would rather have my finger and toe nails ripped out than read another Ayn Rand "novel."

A friend said that if she wrote like Hawthorne, she thinks she would have failed every essay and I really agree. We had to read House of the Seven Gables for a class; the only thing that got me through was knowing that as soon as we finished we'd be starting on Poe.

Except I know nobody at all. That's it -- I'm making a non-Potterhead topic in the fandom subforum, and no one can stop me! BWAHAHAHA.
