I know I can't be the only in love with some of the productions the BBC has done for our favorite classics. Their Pride and Prejudice mini-series is a much watch for any fan, especially with Colin Firth as the Mr. Darcy! They followed the novel very closely and very well. The acting is superb, which is what makes it so amazing.
I've also watched Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South, and even though I haven't read the book, I'm pretty sure I would like it. And it has Richard Armitage, the reason I watched it *cough*, and one of the reasons I loved it.
I'm holding off on watching Jane Eyre, because I haven't finished the book, but from how far I've watched it's okay. I wasn't happy with how they handled some details, but I'll have to judge completely once I finish watching it.

They did a mini series of Hitchhiker's Guide a long time ago, and I liked it way more than the movie from a few years ago (even though I have a major crush on Zooey Deschanel).

I love the BBC adaptation of Richard III from the eighties. We watched it in my intro to Shakespeare class. Ron Cook is AMAZING as Richard.

I must be the only one who does not like the old BBC adaption of Pride and Prejudice. Am I? It is so long and drawn out. I don't care for most of the casting. And old. Did I mention old? The cinematography pains me. I really, really love the Joe Wright/Keira Knightley one. Sure, it doesn't follow. every. single. line. but it is a gorgeous adaptation.
North and South and Jane Eyre are two of my favorites. Mmmm Richard Armitage. I really liked ITV's Jane Austen season; they were brilliant. Small Island is another favorite. We were required to watch the BBC adaption of the Shakespeare plays, and while they weren't exciting, they followed the plays fairly well.
Olive -- Zooey Deschanel is such a gorgeous person. You aren't the only one with a girl-crush on her.

Very much agreed with this statement. And am I the only person who doesn't like Zooey Deschanel. Her sister Emily is much prettier.

I can't really comment on the BBC version (I've only seen about ten minutes of it), but what I did see I didn't like (Jennifer Ehle did not strike me as being a good Elizabeth, but of course, my opinion isn't exactly informed). The Keira Knightley version, though, ohhhhhh, I love it. I love it. It's so beautiful and I love Matthew MacFadyen, and the soundtrack and just <3333! Also, people have said I look like Zooey Deschanel. I don't see it, but anyway.

The only BBC version that I can recall seeing is the new Sherlock. I also actually went to see Jane Eyre with Eternal Lobster a few weeks ago, so there's that. I spent most of the time laughing, though. >>;

Oh, I forgot about their Sherlock Holmes... I'm such a bad fangirl sometimes. I think I like the modern take on it simply because there are SO MANY different versions of time-period Sherlock in different languages.

No worries, Eternal Lobster hates me for it, too. It's also the same birthday of Lawrence Olivier. !

Bwahahahaha. Wikipedia has some awesome, in-depth lists of birthdates and death dates. I think I actually share Constantine's deathdate as my birthday? I'll have to double-check. Yep, just looked. Woo hoo!

The BBC Sherlock was amazing.
I was LIVID with the way it ended though...at least before they announced a new series.
Oh god, was I mad...
