You know, I do believe that the Doctor's greatest fear is himself, because I think it's been hinted at a lot. But what does he have faith in? I mean, I'd need to hear good argument to convince me that he has a lot of faith in himself. Maybe his companions? Like when he was dying and the projections were all of his companions and he kept saying something about how he basically ruined their lives. But they were always there to keep him company and be "impressed" by him.

I would take a stab and say humanity is what he has faith in. He gets frustrated and exasperated with humans on Earth, and yet he always has something positive to say about how they surprise him.

Ooo, good point.

I'm convinced the Doctor's fear has something to do with the TARDIS - the Cloyster bell was pretty loud there and I imagine if something happened to her, it would be the worst thing for him. Companions come and go, but Sexy's been with him for forever.

As far as the apple's concerned... That's pretty fishy but I'm more bothered by that than by the Rubik's Cube.

And he already knows what happens to River and Amy's 'safe' now, so... That leaves the TARDIS.

I was all excited for Rita to be the new Companion and Moffat even got us attached but I guess I knew in my heart of hearts that she was just a poor redshirt.

I liked that last episode :D Characters tend to be more important to me than plot. The plot does make sense and stuff, and there are always explanations, but they're not very loudly proclaimed, haha.

I adored Stormy. I knew there were just so many memes that would evolve from this. And the last scene was so good. The stetson thing made me happy. Though of course, it's bittersweet because we know he's dying. It was just such an awesome feel-good episode, even though it wasn't that intense.

I kinda predicted the tesalator thing, just cause they had a flashback to it in the beginning.

But I loved it! I'm really glad Moffat didn't go and kill a flesh creature. That'd be lame. The time-bubble thing was lots of fun. The marriage was lovely. I adored River and the Doctor's dynamic in that scene. Also, the whole Rory thing was great, as per usual.

I would love a few episodes with just the Doctor and River. Maybe the Christmas special?

Not the Christmas special -- they got Bill Bailey to costar in it.

We've got a long ways to go, friends.

Think, though. We could be BBC Sherlockians. I'm not as big into the series as a lot of people are and I can't imagine what's it like to have to go that long on a cliffhanger like that.

The BBC is eternally vague on series premiere airdates... Depending on which article you read, Sherlock should return either later this year or early next.

'Til then, I'm fixing my craving with Merlin! Which I won't gush about here, since we already have a thread for it.

Sounds like a plan, especially considering I've yet to catch up to the fourth series.

Still won't make up for Doctor Who, though. Counting down the days until Christmas...

I'm not sure what's weirder: that we're counting down the days until Christmas because of the Doctor Who special, or because I don't find it so weird that we're counting down the days until Christmas because of the Doctor Who special.
